Yesterday, I came to a stop at the intersection of a divided 4 lane hwy - speed limit 65.  I turned onto the hwy, and shifted into 2nd at about 5k (I'm really trying to baby the 1-2 shift).  A quick glance in my mirrors and the oncoming traffic is approaching me faster than I would like.

So, I released the hounds...

Prior, I had not shifted my bike higher than 9K.  I heard from some of you that there is another "hit" at 9K.  Now, I believe you.  Ran her up to the redline through gear 4.  The big difference is, when you shift at the redline, the next gear is already way up in the power band.  So, the "hit" is constant, if that makes sense.

That will be enough for a while.  Next time, I'll yield to the cross traffic and wait my turn.

Man, I love this bike.

+1 on yeilding to traffic...still there's something to be said for a bike that can get out of its own way! burnout

I did this by accident...and it scared the hell out of me.

Then I did it 2 or 3 more times when no one was around.

Its nice when your redline is almost twice what most other 4 cyl cars redline's are.

Yeah - seems like the bike really wants to rev.  When I think about 10,000 revolutions per minute, it's a wonder the thing doesn't just "boom".

When I got home Sunday, I stopped at my neighbor's house - he was wiping down his georgous 2008 'busa (that burnt orange color is amazing!!!).  I was sharing my experience and he kind of said "you ought to take this thing down the road".

I passed, but I wanted to....  naughty

Well hppants, if you ever make it up north, like way north you can come by and ride my Kawasaki zx9r. Its no " busa" but you can wheelie it thru the first 2 gears. And it is plent fast enough for me.  biker_h4h1

Oh yea,  I really like your bike too  super

Come rally time you had better keep it under lock and key,I can really see myself on that.  poke
