I was out the door at 945am on an absolutely beautiful morning !

We decided to meet in Sedalia and when I arrived Bkakebird was waiting with the very cool Moto Guzzi he just bought.

So we decided to ride south to Monument, then hop on I-25 and cut through Manitou Springs on the Way to Woodland Park. From Woodland Park we'd ride north to Deckers and then up Pine Valley to join 285 just west of Aspen Park Connifer.

From there it was back to Denver ....

So here's the map- The red line is where Blake & I rode together, and the blue line is where we separated- me to Squaw Pass & Blakebird back home  via some twisty back roads.

So we left Sedalia and had a nice ride to Woodland Park- the weather was just about perfect. We stopped and had lunch there and then rode north towards Deckers. This was the first time that Blakebird and I got to push our bikes & scrub in the tires.

We stopped for a few pics -

My R1150RT -

Blakebird's brand new 1200 Moto Guzzi -

Emblem pron -

We rode north and had some great spirited riding in the twisties with just a few slow downs by the Sunday drivers.

When we go to Aspen Park I headed to Evergreen and Blakebird continued East.

From Evergreen I went up Squaw Pass- it was mostly deserted and almost completely free of sand. I stopped for a break near the top of the pass -

It was actually very nice where I stopped- I'd guess around 55 degrees -

I am really enjoying the RT -

There is still some snow up there, but the roads were completely clear -

I rode down the pass with very little traffic and just a bit of sand here and there.

Once I got to Idaho Springs I rode north and rode the Golden Gate Canyon to Golden, and then back home.

Sorry for the low quality cell phone pics, and the few pics as well- Blakebird and I didn't stop much as we were having too much fun riding.

I'd give anything for a mountain within 50 miles of my house.   Heck - I'll take a hill.  Awesome report.  What kind of fuel mileage did the bikes get?  What range can you expect considering this?

My bike averaged 43 mpg on the 1st tank, 51 mpg on it's fill up 150 miles later.

Not sure about the Guzzi-

Those shots with the bike in the foreground and the snow covered mountains behind are beautiful!
