Yep - Burgi spotted on in CA and photographed it - guess Honda was rubbing it in a little.  That's a good looking bike.

There are some great bikes available in Asia and Europe.  Even Canada is getting in on the act by bringing in the CB600s...

I love this bike! If I had one complaint about it, besides it not being available in the US:(, it needs dual mufflers. I understand the 4 into 1's now days for emissions and cost factors, though. I'm guessing there's probably a cat converter built into that one muffler.

I don't know, call me old fashioned, but there is something to be said aesthetically for an old school, air cooled engine that the newer water cooled engines can't compare to. I'm not saying I don't like that bike, and I'm sure the water cooled engines perform better, but those engines look like large water pumps to me!   giggle

Edit: I'm referring to the CB600 picture that fishball posted. The CB1100 looks like it has cooling fins? I couldn't get the link to work to get a closer look.

Not to  threadjacked, Ari, but this is an area where the NHF is definitely divided.  I like the look of a 4-1 - it reminds me of the days when the NH was new and everyone wanted to put a loud aftermarket exhaust.  May not be faster, but it sure sounded good and the girls could hear you coming.  naughty  However, I know that others here are adimant about dual exhaust.

Interesting.

When shedding 5lbs from a bike is a big deal the 4 into 1 makes much more sense. Just in weight savings alone.

+1
On the 700s, I've read that switching from the stock exhaust to say a Supertrapp 4-1 will save you something like 10+ lbs.

Personally I've picked up a complete stock 700s exhaust and my 4-1 and the weight difference is like night to day.

Considering that the 650, 700 and 750 bikes are designed to carry two full grown adults at interstate speeds I don't think saving 5-10 lbs. is worthwhile.  If you like the look or sound that makes much more sense to me.  Though I prefer stock in most cases.

Funny, I usually kill my bike at the edge ot the driveway and coast into the garage so not to wake my wife up when I'm coming home late! giggle

I've done this too. Sometimes I cut it out at our neighbors house and let it coast in...
I've got a 2.5 and a 4.5 year old that I have to mind too.

Don't get me wrong I added about 15lbs of just rack to hold another 50-60lbs of gear. Then I added a fuel cell. But when your redesigning a bike and you go with one brake reservoir over another for a 5gram weight savings then the exhaust isn't going to be something to take...lightly.  coollaugh Sorry couldn't help myself.

Thing is they make those bikes so they CAN carry two full grown adults at interstate speeds but that's not WHAT they design them for. Unless your getting a touring bike a bike is designed with one rider in mind. And not a big one at that.

So now the Aussies are getting them?  Not fair.    I kinda had a suspicion they would be getting them since that cool mini-movie from Honda was clearly filmed in nearby New Zealand.  The Aus and NZ Honda websites still don't have them listed in their 2010 lineup.

I only hope that since one was seen in CA, that we may eventually get it too.   One of the hurdles will be passing the new emissions requirements with an air cooled engine, but I have faith that the Honda geniuses will figure it out.

Personally, I don't need 1100 CCs for anything (I'd prefer a 750), but it comes in an irresistable package.  I will have to buy one.

shedding 5 - 10 lbs of exhaust mean = 5 - 10 lbs more load ( carring ) capacity
