I was in OD and on the interstate.

I hit 75 and it just quit pulling. It will pull away from a light or stop sign like a scalded dog.

Probably not the true source of your problem, but keep in mind the overdrive gear on those bikes is not really designed to "accelerate".  If you really want to wind a bike like that up to full potential don't shift from 5th to 6th/OD until you are about to hit redlines.  Just my $.02 and even with the above considered your bike should easily go above 90.

I took a much closer look at the carbs today. It would seem that I need to replace some lines. Fuel and vac lines. Also, I see where it has been leaking fuel from the bottom of the carbs..it could just be from leaks around the hoses blowing up onto the carbs. but I am considering a complete carb teardown and rebuild.

I have 4 of the cheap vac gauges. Kind of a long story, but I have some experience syncing dual carbs on VW engines. Is there a way to keep the needles from bouncing enough to sync the carbs at idle?

Thanks,

Dave

I sync mine @ 5K, and there is a sort of stablizer made, but I can't remember the exact part.
