Okay!

So my Spot was giving me issues today buy cutting off whenever it felt like it - I'll have to send it in...

Anyhow - It was a great day for a ride to Big Bear! I ran into some stiff wind heading North out of Aguanga to Anza... 4th gear, full throttle and 45-50 mph for almost an hour!

I left a little after 7 a.m. - returned at 7 p.m.

402 miles
Average 61 mpg for the whole trip (high of 68 and low of 55)

Met up with a couple TW buddies for lunch at La Montana - Russ (lizrdbtrh) and his girl Gina (Purple People Eater).  smiler

Great folks...

So anyhow - Here is the track:

And here are the pictures!

Heading out of Alpine - Looking North towards El Capitan Lake:

Descending into Santa Ysabel:

Stopped to say hello to a few old buddies:

Looking down into Anza at the dust storms:

Stopped to gas up in Anza and check in with Russ:

Looking South from the lower portion of Idyllwild:

Topped out at 6000 feet through Idyllwild - Nothing compared to the summit of Big Bear Mountain I hit later (8524 feet):

Peekaboo! Big Bear Mountain here I come!

The beginning of a long stretch to the summit:

I totally missed the summit sign - I was bummed but had friends to meet so I moved onward! I arrived at the meeting spot and got in a quick picture:

And then these two showed up! Russ and Gina!

We headed off for a great lunch and lot's of chit chat... Then it was time to cover more ground and get home! Say goodbye to my TW buddies!

A quick shot of Big Bear Lake before I head down the hill:

Looking South over the San Fernando Valley:

I headed down 79 through Hemet - This is what the town of Sage looks like:

I took my usual route home through the Cuyamaca's:

And one last self portrait!

That's all folks! Hope you all had a great day!

Warren - you sure are having fun with that TW.  Don't forget to back up your computer occasionally - I'd hate for it to crash and you lose your pictures.  Of course, think about all the fun you will have re-taking them.  laugh

Outstanding Warren, You sure are enjoying the heck out of your TW. Way to go.

BTW. That soft bag support rack is pretty sweet, do you have any info on it, I'd like to find one for my DR 650.

Ride safe.  ricky
