Hey guys and gals , i have great news , they were released on Wednesday and doing great

They survived their first night out in their new world and even stopped by to visit

Louis in the cherry tree

Here they are both the next day

Clark relaxing

Here they are enjoying one of the smaller trees together

Louis finding his own food and damn good at it

Yesterday they both stopped by to say hello but Louis is bolder , after drinking some water we left out for them he flew right at me and landed on my hand

Then he flew over to my mom and said hello too

I'll see if they stop by again today but one things for sure , they will live a full and natural life  super , i can only wish them a good journey and hope mother nature treats them kindly.

After Louis and Clark get their full plumage I can see the three of you out gliding together.  Maybe they will even be able to give tips to improve your gliding technique!   giggle

Yeah i could use some more landing tips , they are experts at it

How are you teaching them to forage for food? If you havn't started yet I thought of a suggestion. You may try a few inches of dirt in another container with worms and rolly pollys buried in it. Once they get one dug up Im sure they will catch on.

No need to , their natural instincts to forage keeps them fed all the time now , you can see in the video.

Parking garages have lots of sparrows in them...

Once these wild babies are ready to fly away (I think that's any day now!), you may like owning finches!

I believe all birds should fly free , it's what they are born to do and so i don't think i could keep any in a cage

Glad to see them out in the world and flying around.  You've done real good Hangster, I'm sure they will stop by to visit now and again, after all it is their home.

Good on you, Hangster!  It was amazing getting to watch them fly free - and they were ready when she opened that lid, like they just knew what they were supposed to do.

Awesome, thanks for sharing.
