Finished my repaint/round headlight project just in time. Within hours of having it put together, off I was to the folk's cabin. The trip was about 215 miles each way.

Starting out. Cortech bags and Hellfire windscreen....love them both.

A smoke break at some farmer's field in Clearwater...

Finally in Akely, the famous Paul Bunyan statue.

Stopping lunch and a beer in Park Rapids... notice the sign.....

And what is actually parked in the space.....
Three Honda's and only one Harley.....even the chopper was a Honda. The motor was a DOHC 750.

The bike ran great. This was my first trip on the nighthawk, and was especially rewarding to me after all the many late nights and long hours I have put into the bike over the last 3 or 4 weeks. Thanks for all the help from everybody. This site is a great resource.

Bike looks good.  Nothing like the first ride after working the bike over.

Nice stuff.  The 650 looks so much better with the round headlight... it does make the squarish instrument cluster stand out though.  By the way, what happened to the windscreen?  It looks like it is missing on the last two photos of the bike.

I was just wondering the same thing!  Also the bags are missing too. Did you take them off once to Akely?

I dropped them off once I got to Akely....the cabin is just a mile or so from town.
