need help with 85 cb650 crankshaft

I have a cb650 that has a bad rod bearing on the #3 cylinder, this damaged the crankshaft. I have a shop near by that says they can turn it but they need to know the specs too turn it to. The guy that is doing the tare down for me is telling me that there can be four different size bearings on the crankshaft. My question is this how do I find the right size to have the shop turn it too or is there away too turn all four and get one standard size bearing ?

Call Honda and see if they will give you the sizes.....they don't vary by much as they are really meant to match factory machining / very mild grinds. If you only need a few thou off the crank you may get lucky with the OEM selection.

They call them bearings A,B & C.......each increasing in thickness slightly.
How slightly is something you will have to investigate along with your clearance.

The rod bearing codes should be stamped on the crankshaft. It will read something like 'L ABAA'. This would stand for 'Left side' and the codes for cylinders 1 through 4. There will always be an 'L' first because they number the cylinders from left to right.

Once you have the rod bearing codes, you can look them up in the shop manual.

thank you for the help. I should know more thursday or friday when we get the crankshaft out. I checked out the link and I see the bearings listed but it dose not give the size or if it's A B C ect. I will call them when I find out more info. Thanks again I'm new to this forum. Ijust baught the bike a few months back and broke it. But that's part of the fun of having a old bike work ride repair.
