Really great pics! That is some beautiful country you are blessed with. The more I see from you west coasters the more I think it would be a great way to spend my next spring break...

Super, can't wait to be there. Fantastic views and the bike looks great, especially with the shadows...I'll have to try that.
You didn't mention how pleased you were with riding it, has the joy left?

No, the bike was great, it handled the slow winding curves of Hwy 1 with ease. The toughest part was keeping off the throttle, but I managed, most of the time. This Nighthawk is by far the most fun Ive had on a bike in many years. Not one minor glitch the entire weekend, she did everything I asked of her, and just seemed to get stronger as the weekend went on. It's pretty much a given, this bike rocks!

You Sir have got your priorities straight. That report rivals anything I can even dream of. A PCH ride is definitely on my bucket list.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Great pics. I'm thoroughly jealous of you members that live in coastal states. I need to get my bike out west just for the riding.

I drove Hwy 1 in a car about 20 years ago and after looking at your pics of that fantastic scenery I know I've got to ride that road on my NH someday.

That is just a fraction of the scenery, you would have to stop every mile or so to really capture the beauty of that coastline.

No kidding. Last year, my wife and I landed in San Fran, rented a car, and drove straight to Hwy 1 heading for Monterey. Within 1 mile of turning left, I was shell shocked. I had to stop and check it out. We get back in the car, go around the first curve, and there it is, another postcard stop. After about 3 more stops, I realized that the entire road is like this, and at the rate I was going, it was going to take a week to get to Monterey. That was the trip of a lifetime.

Just think if you would have made it south of Monterey:thumb: The Big Sur area is hard to put into words, big waterfalls, big sheer cliffs, a gem of the CA coast.

Tree huggers, oddballs & politics aside, California is amazingly beautiful. We are blessed to have it all - great mountain roads & scenery, great coastal roads & scenery, great desert roads & scenery... so much variety, and sometimes I get so used to it I forget how gorgeous it really is. Ya'll come on out & have a looksee for yourselves. Nite will show you the way.

That Sir, will not take much effort on your part. Let's wait to start the thread until about 2 months before we leave. This ole fart's heart won't be able to take much more excitement than that.

Not to mention the great weather we have!! There is no shortage of sights to see, and having said that, this Thursday I am leaving to see some of them. Its off to the Gold Country for my annual Mother Lode trip, where the history of California comes alive. This year it 4 days of riding and camping along the Golden Chain Hwy, should be fun.
