Gettin the tires mounted up today/tomorrow. Dropped em off and I should be able to pick em up in the morning and mount em back on the bike. They feel nice and soft so hopefully theyll grip the road a litte better than the old tires. The old tires were real good for sliding on hard down shifts or quick brake stops. I just put Michelin Pilot Road 2 on mine and it made a world of difference. I saw your post on that, Im hopin the michlins I got will work as well for me. The thing about the Rhino-lining is that it weights more then regular paint. I've never been a huge fan of using it on bikes. But I can appreciate its low maintenance appeal...not saying thats what you're after, but obviously the P.O. was.
That was a concern I had considered, but i dont honestly think its enough weight to really worry about...I still may try to paint the grey portion of the plastics a different color. Also, are corbin seats worth the $329 price tag? My butt got a little uncomfortable after the 130 mile ride I went on a few days ago and Id like sometin a bit better espicially becasue Ill be using the bike to do some commuting with...

The new tires are sooooo much nicer than the old ones. I cant give a full report on em yet because iv only got about 20 miles on em but theyre a million times better already than the dunlops I had before.
The only thing Iv noticed is that they seem really slippery on the black tar stuff they use to cover cracks in the road. I know its a new tire but it seems really bad. So i just watch where I lean and turn etc.

Did you go to a parking lot to scrub them in? They will be very slick until scrubbed.

I was playing with the suspension earlier today and I stiffened up the rear with the preload..or whatever the outer stepped adjustment is on the rear shocks and its much firmer now and rides a lot better and feels more responsive but. It put more into perspective how soft the front is and how much it likes to dive.
It was suggested to add a half ounce or so of fork oil to firm them up to match the rear. Will a half ounce make a difference? good idea, bad idea, input please.

ALso when I couldnt get the fork cap loose I decided to hold off on adding fluid. I had to build a "tool" using a metric bolt with a 17mm head and two 17mm nuts double nutter together. Since Im also a toyota guy I happened to ahve them sitting around.
I needed something to do so I decided to do the "tim hodge" method of drilling out the exhaust for a bit better tone. I can't stand the stock quiet system!

Well I broke out the tail light on accident today. I was backing out of the garage and my foot slipped and the bike rolled back into the trailer. SO if anyone has a factory tail light they arent using or an aftermarket one. let me know please.

I think Im gonna end up swapping a new tail light in... something like this... http://www.easternmarine.com/LED-6-Oval-Flanged-Red-Vehicle-Trailer-Tail-Light-STL-78RB-/you can buy a housing and rubber grommet to hold it and Ill trim 1/4" off each side of the housing and it should slip right in and connect to the stock wiring then Ill fab up a small bracket to connect it to teh stock mounting location.

I wired in a trailer light so I can still ride it since its currently my only transportation...Its hard to get teh metal trim bezel deal to fit and look clean so im not sure if its gonna stay or not...I left enough of the stock wiring so if I find a stock light itll be easy to swap back in
Ill post a pic of the new light tomorrow

I like the idea of an updated tail-light! I was wondering how to go about it though, so please post lots of pics when you get the chance!

I couldnt get the metal bracket to fit perfectly and I just wanted to be able to ride it so its inda ghetto right now. The local auto parst stores didnt have any LED lights in stock and wanted $60+ to order one so I need to order one on my own online somewhere. I like the idea of an updated tail-light! I was wondering how to go about it though, so please post lots of pics when you get the chance!
I was thinking about doing a fiberglass fill in piece although I have very littel experience using fiberglass....I might give it a shot. Ill post up a pic of how the tail light is now though.

Im also looking at getting a set of saddle bags. Just a small set and I tried a friends set of Nelson Rigg classic mini's on the bike and I really like them but theyre really hard to mount cleanly with the hondaline rack installed. Id prefer not to remove it but I realllly dont like the way they look and fit if put over the sides of the rack...
So... any suggestions on a set of smaller cheap (~$100) saddlebags?

When you did this, did you also do the Tim Hodge washer mod to the carbs? The two mods go hand in hand. Also, drilling out the exhaust will lean it out a bit more then it already is. So the washer mod will help with this.

I def like it in black better. However, the rhino lining kinda makes it look like orange peel...
How did the tail light turn out? Did you settle on that oval one you pic-ed above or did you change it again?

For now Iv settled on the trailer light it has...Id like to get some fiberglass or something to try to make a new light section to stuff in and custom fit a new LED light but well see how it goes... I still would like to order the LED light but I havent had the extra money lateyl to do anything else with the bike. Also the bags i ordered came in

Don't know if you've bought a seat yet, but you have two of the best seat builders in the country just a couple hours south of you in Anderson and Redding. http://www.rickmayercycle.com/http://day-long.com/I'd go to either one of them first (especially Rick Mayer) before buying a Corbin. Their seats just don't agree with my butt.

I havent been on the forum in awhile since I moved from dunsmuir down to Sacramento for school I havent really done anything on the bike lately besides riding to school and back when it was a bit warmer.
I did an oil change awhile back though and I had my brother get me the oil and he got fully synthetic. Awhile after doing the oil change I noticed the clutch was slipping a lot. Would running fully synthetic oil have any effect on that? Shoudl I change it again for semi synthetic or conventional?

Yeah, you don't get much more "low maintenance" than a NH750 with a Rhino Liner paint job! I think I might still have the taillight from my wrecked '92 if you are interested. If so, PM me and I'll try to did it out.
