I recently sold my 2005 FZ6 and purchased a 97 Nighthawk 750 w/7800 miles. I've had it about two weeks now and have about 8500 miles on it. I've been riding for about 8 years now and my other bikes have included: 2002 Nighthawk 250 (great starter bike) 2003 Honda Shadow 750 Aero (sold to buy a mustang) 2006 Suzuki SV650 (didn't like the riding position for longer rides) 2008 Suzuki V-Strom 650 (loved this one. Sold to get the fourwheeler) 2002 Honda Rancher 350 4x4 ES (had to have it and then never rode it) 2005 Yamaha FZ6 (purchased with the leftover $ from the V-Strom after buying the Rancher) I sold the FZ6 to pay off some bills after the birth of my daughter. The Nighthawk is a "cheaper" bike, but it has been better for me in every way. The seat is a hundred times more comfortable. The bike is so smooth and much easier to ride. I actually had planned on purchasing a 750 Nighthawk as my first bike, but when I sat on it at the dealership, I wasn't comfortable with the weight. Five motorcycles and a four wheeler later, and I've finally got the bike I originally set out to get. I paid $2800 which is a few hundred higher than blue book, but with the condition the bike is in, it is definitely worth it. It is black and doesn't have a scratch. It came with the honda center stand and backrest as well as bar risers. I've since made some brackets for my saddle bags and I'm working on a small fly screen for the front. Pikchers! Homemade fly screen Saddlebag brackets. Temperature and voltage gauges. All the numbers didn't show in the pic. The top one shows temp at 93 degrees and the bottom is voltage at 12.4v.

I'll add some seperate posts for those. I'll also get some pic's of the bike up soon, but if you've seen a black Nighthawk with a backrest, then you know what it looks like.
Good luck with the new bike, your going to love it here.

She's a beauty! What's the story on the rear bar? A custom made saddle bag support?

You got it. Custom saddlebag bracket and, more recently, custom crash bar.

Welcome.
I'm glad to see another Black on Black Nighthawk. Did you add the temp and volt gauge or was that already on the bike? I so need that gauge for my Nighthawk. I dig the luggage bars too.

I added the gauges. They came from cyclemaxohio.com. At least, I THINK that's the website. The box they are in came from Radio Shack.
