I got a replacement electrical wire for my Honda CB700SC, its the wire that goes from the wiring harness/spark unit to the ignition coils. One end connects to the harness, then it splits into 4 wires, 2 for each coil that fit onto metal tabs. I wasn't paying attention when I took off the old wires and didn't mark which wire went where. The 4 wires are arranged in 2 pairs of 2 wires and are black and blue, yellow and black.

I have the wiring schematic from the manual but I'm still somewhat confused and would appreciate it if someone could help.

Here is a picture of the wiring schematic:

Is this correct?

Or is this correct?

My gut tells me the first picture is right because it corresponds to the wiring schematic picture, but carb boots are labeled the opposite of that so I'm not sure.

Nevermind.  I think I figured it out based on the wiring diagram and the spark plug wires.  What I observed is that on the end of the plug wires attached to the coil it says either COIL 1, COIL 2, COIL 3 or COIL 4.  That would be reading from left to right as your sitting on the motorcycle looking down (at least that's how mine are arranged).  On the other end of the plug wires, where they attach to the spark plugs, it will say either ENG 1, ENG 2, ENG 3, or ENG 4, telling you which spark plug to connect which wire to.  That would be referring to the cylinder from left to right.  The wiring I believe is as follows, based on the wiring diagram in the shop manual.

COIL 1 - ENG 1
COIL 2 - ENG 4
COIL 3 - ENG 2
COIL 4 - ENG 3

Hope this helps...
