Look what she got me for Father's day!  banana  Well, mostly...I found it online, and she convinced me I needed it and even helped pay for it.  Not that it took a lot of coaxing.  naughty  Have I got the greatest wife or what? mol  I'd been looking for something with some carrying capacity for a while now. I love my NH, but it's not very practical for my use.  I've always regretted selling my ST1100, so that's kind of what I looked for when I came across this, a 2004 ST1300A.  Got it for a good price with a lot of add ons.  My brother and I went to Charlotte to pick it up, and rode it home.  The power is excellent (won't tell how fast we were going), and the bike is smooth and quiet.  The electric windshield is great (its almost all the way up in the pics), but it's been cut down a little, so I'll need a bigger one for winter riding.

So, can I still hang out here?  I'm scared out in the "real" world. Sad

The real world scares me too. That's why I prefer my fantasy world where people ride Nighthawks and  hot girls dance in bikinis all day. It's much more pleasant than reality.  thumb

Congrats on your new bike.  Now you and Designflaw can debate on the best non-NH sport tourer.  Assuming you are going to sell your NH?  Home many miles do you have on ole yella?

No sense in arguing, he'd lose.  rollinglaugh  I mean it is a Honda after all.  thumb  I do suggest you give one of these a try as well, tho.  Maybe next gathering?

No plans to sell ol' yella as yet.  I had some plans for it, that I never got around to, maybe I'll have time to make it a project.

Tomb Raider - no 2 up as yet, tho Angel is looking forward to giving it a try.  She's got some back issues that keep her from riding.  We've borrowed my brothers 1500 'Wing, and she's ok on that, so we're hoping she'll be able to ride on this one for some short trips.  The Sargent seat and the big backrest might be enough for that.

Arm rest in the back might help too. Allow her to unload some of the pressure on her back onto her elbows.

Love the bike. If I was looking for some two up touring the St1300 is one of the "must try" bikes. At that point I'll give the FJR, and Concourse a try too.

Beautiful bike and just what I am looking for. I like the color too as those are usually red or black.

Dem's fightin words Wharsuul!

I really did try to give the ST a shot. Been a huge Honda fan (still am) and I wanted that to be my next bike. But the way I fit on it was nothing compared to the FJR. And I like the look of the FJR a little better. Other than that, the bikes were pretty much a wash. Concours14 was in the running too. I would recommend riding all 3 to anyone considering a sport touring bike. Everything else that I rode claiming to be "sport-touring" was just a crotch rocket with saddlebags.

But that blue is close to mine too. Congrats on the new toy. Make sure you get over to www.st-owners.com. Those guys were real helpful when I was researching.

Niterider - the blue is a one year only color in the states.  Kinda like my yellow '96 wings

DF - I had the ST1100 (so I may be a touch biased), and have been a member of STO for a while. If I'd have found as good a deal on a feejer, I could be riding one of those right now.  But I can't say I'm disappointed with the ST in the least. ricky  At the next gathering we'll have to trade off.  While everyone else is lining up to ride Ari's CB of course. muhaha

Ari, I'd hardly consider the Big One a crotch rocket.  It was a consideration to find one of those too, but they're a little hard to find.  As mentioned in another thread, I was about to buy an FZ1 until I found out what the insurance was like.

Beautiful bike. It'd be nice if your wife could do some riding with you. And, with those saddle and trunk bags, you've got room for the kids as well.

Congrats. I rode an ST1300 about 40 miles once and thought it was a great bike.  Unlimited and smooth power.

Nice bike.

Eventually I will need to get a bike that can tour my fat ass and my 200lb son. I am looking at used Goldwings and ST's.

ST's have an aggressive lean-forward position, and GW's have too much bulk. Decisions, decisions.

If you don't mind me asking but, how much did that bike go for? I really like the looks of it and now the wheels in my head are turning.

Have I ever told you all that you're a bad influence on me?  naughty

Green427 - The ST weighs in just over 700lbs, the Gold Wing'abago is well over 900.  With my ST, I have the Sargent seat and the Heli-bar riser plate.  It doesn't feel like I'm anymore leaned forward than my NH.  The leg position is a little different.  Also, the ST1300 has an adjustable height seat.
