As many of you know, we hit a deer with our Gold Wing.  The insurance adjuster came out to acess the damages, and as you might have guessed, the Wing was deemed a total.  So, after many hours on searchtempest.com (thank you cjbear11), many scam responses, and 5 days of negotiating with a local on an awesome bike, we are now the proud owners of a 1999 Kawasaki Concours Sport Touring Bike "aka...Connie" as the youngest, sportiest addition to our "motorcylce family".  It is a one-owner, 13,621 mile, burgandy awesome piece of machinery well worth the negotiation.

(Drum Roll, Please)  We are proud to introduce to our Nighthawk Family,

Nice looking bike Hwy - congrats.

Between DF, Wahrsal, CB, and yourself, looks like the sport touring market is covered.  thumb

I had a 2001 Conc.  Great bike, and one of the best stock seats I've ever been on.  Enjoy!

Great find there Jim!  I have almost pulled the trigger on one more than once. In fact, we look at the one in the window of the dealer at Key West now for more than a few years. It is an '05 that is brand new. The price goes down each and every year but it still too optimistic for me.

My next bike is going to be a C14. Waiting for winter when the '11 models come out to try to score a '10 at the right price.

Hey nice bike. I also just replaced my big bike, (2003 Yamaha RSV), with a 99 concours. Mine has 13,000 miles on it.

Very nice bike  Leptim, Mine is the same year just under 14,000 miles now.  I have the dark purple one with a corbin seat on it.   Does your ride good?  I have a vibration at about 4000 rpm and I cant figure out what it is.

As I read some on the concours websites I see that this buzzing is a common thing. You may want to do some of the suggestions they talk about. I have not noticed very much on mine. I do plan on adjusting the valves, checking motor mounts, synching carbs, and foam hand grips. I already put handle bar risers and foot peg lowers on as well as modify the seat.

Thanks leptim,  Where did you get the bar risers, and the lower foot pegs?   My seat is a corbin, so I should be good there.  I want to do the Bunburner 1500 on this bike and right now with this vibration there is no way.

I have a free weekend this weekend so the bike is coming apart and I hope I find something or there might be a very nice connie up for sale on monday  Hap1

A very good source for most things Concours:

www.murphskits.com

Murph is a fine fellow and attends all our national rallies. He will help you find what you need over the phone and as a Concours rider, he takes very good care of all of us.
