To come, or to go as long as I am on my nighthawk.

Well Tryvelcro has been bugging me to do a ride report now for a while since I ride around so much in my little bubble of a state so I decided why not...

Well the route we took was about 140 miles of countryside and beautiful roads. Im still working on getting my helmet cam or my bike cam so I can document the roads better.  But we took a route out of Indianola towards Knoxville and to Lake Red Rock, thru pella, to my fav curvy road, thru New Sharon, back south to Oskaloosa and then back to Indianola.

Here are the bikes, warmin up and gettin ready to take off.

We stopped at Lake Red Rock and I got a couple more of the bikes and then for some reason put the phone aka camera on my tank bag and looked over and we saw fish jumping from the water. First off, I have never seen fish jump below the dam.. Secondly the fish I have seen jump have all been smaller, Now I am talkin carp the size of my leg jumping out of the water and getting easy 3 - 4 ft out of the water and smaller fish getting 10-15 ft out of the water.  My cousin (the smart one) had his camera and took some pictures trying to get the fish jumping and also got a video...I am currently trying to get him to send it to me so I can upload it.

After about an hour of watching the fish jump and watching two gentlemen snag about 10 lunkers, we decided to head out and head into Pella.  My cousing wanted to stop at a small coffee shop to get a danish letter. A little hole in the wall called Smokey Row.

After about 3 min of good lookin ladies and chatting with the clerk...they are out for the evening..darn... well the view was good  drooler
So we head on our way to the next place... which happens to be the Kum & Go parking lot in northern Oskaloosa.

Contemplating where to eat..cous is on his droid lookin for restaurants...

Found a place..now to locate and eat.  We took off from the parking lot and started driving into Oskie to see where TASOS Steak House was.  We crossed a few streets and were on the square and lo and behold...another Smokey Row...
I cut out the sign..but damn..this place was easy 5x the size.

We went inside..darn..also out of danish letters. So we look around  Sad didn't grab camera again...shame, this place was neat inside. So back outside and off we go to find the place...all gear back on and headed out..and literally right around the corner..damn..pulled over, went inside, sat down, ordered two budlights.. ID check. I pass with flying colors.. My cousin (been 21 2 months and has the new Iowa license thats unknown to everyone.) gives her his ID and right away..this is a fake and im not going to take it.  We both were like its the new Iowa license. We can verify any way you want. She got an attitude, we kept our cool.  She says ok well Im going to check with my manager..we say ok have fun.  We sit there for 10 min. she comes back saying stil looks fake but is told its not. At this point my cous is starting to lose his edge..goes ok call the cops we will sit here and wait for them to show up and for you to see its real. She gives him a look like uhhh... sets it down and brings our drinks.  I looked at him and was like great, now comes the spit in food tactic...lol.  Well we ordered our food and was a pretty good meal.

Here we are at the table before the food came in.

After that it was pretty dark out so I left the camera away. It was a nice sunset ride home and beautiful evening out.

As for now, this is my first ride report..hope it turned out ok.  If not..well I'll just do better next time.

Nice job Snoppy.  I think the fairing and luggage makes your bike look completely different.  In this type of weather, are you picking up a lot of engine heat?

My right leg gets a tad warm, more towards the inner knee and thigh but I just push my right leg into the wind and it goes away quick.  Its not a lot tho, and for the most part the way the fairing works it all dissepates (sp?) nicely.
