So, the local riding community here in Vegas is awesome. I went out on a 650 mile day, my longest yet. here is a map: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Las+Vegas,+NV&daddr=Mesquite,+NV+to:Cedar+City,+UT+to:37.479217,-112.524719+to:Marysvale,+UT+to:Panguitch+Lake,+UT+to:Cedar+City,+UT+to:W+Old+Hwy+91+to:W+Sunset+Blvd+to:Logandale,+NV+to:Las+Vegas,+NV&geocode=FdYQJwIdMJoi-SnRffWkgre-gDGjebPV5tXMOg%3BFZubMQIdCnkz-SkDU0hxCYDJgDGcP7-H5rGyEw%3BFaXpPgId-89C-SnRwl7gf2G1gDHp0XOA4soU7w%3B%3BFQyxSgIdxoBP-SkPiD9c6t9KhzFJ6otBl0g9AQ%3BFZh5PwIdLT1J-SmVG3slsarKgDFb7R3KC0WvkQ%3BFaXpPgId-89C-SnRwl7gf2G1gDHp0XOA4soU7w%3BFbkUNQIdEPU1-Q%3BFT56NgIdCpA6-Q%3BFaFrLgIdSxwt-SmtB3YU73TJgDEFeDNDzan5fQ%3BFdYQJwIdMJoi-SnRffWkgre-gDGjebPV5tXMOg&gl=us&hl=en&mra=dpe&mrcr=2&mrsp=3&sz=9&via=3,7,8&sll=37.870517,-112.659302&sspn=1.149113,2.458191&ie=UTF8&ll=36.701458,-114.277039&spn=1.167104,2.458191&z=9It started at 4:00am when I left. That was way too early for me, but I was so excited that I got up no problem. We met at the diner in a a local casino, the Cannery at 4:30 and left at 5:30 with the sun in our eyes. We took the old mesquite road into Mesquite, then up the old highway around the Virgin River Gorge through Santa Clara, UT and St. George to get to Cedar City. From there we went over Cedar Mountain and up the 89 to our lunch destination. We had lunch with a few people from the Salt Lake Area, 8 of us total met up and had a great time. If you're ever in the middle of Utah, and you want a great place to eat, go to Hoover Cafe in Marysvale, UT. After lunch, we went down through Panguich lake and snapped a few pictures there and at Cedar Breaks. Brumbie's in black. And here's what Cedar Breaks looks like without people standing in front of it: After that, we headed back to Cedar City, filled up, and headed back home. We made it through the Virgin River Gorge, which is an amazing place to not get caught going 95 through. Then we met up in Mesquite, where it was about 180 degrees outside. We filled up and said our goodbyes from there as the other three raced home to beat the heat. Me, I went to Logandale, NV, which is about 30 minutes from Mesquite to my Grandma's house to let her pamper me while I waited for the sun to go down. As soon as the sun went behind the mountain, I took off for the last hour home. ... Aaaand the story wouldn't be accurate if I didn't tell you that I ran out of gas at the opposite side of town that I live on. I pulled off to an industrial exit that had no gas stations. Google maps on my phone confirmed this. My wife drove out 30 minutes to bring me some gas. As I started riding, I found a gas station that I could have pushed the bike to in about 5 minutes. Sometimes, I'm a 'tard. Good ride. Good day. Awesome burger and company. Oh yeah... and I'm never going that far on the ghetto-hawk again.

So let me get this straight, you rode all that way for a burger, even named the thread after it, and you didn't take a picture for us to over... Poor form Mr. Brumbie! Looks like some great scenery shots and a good group ride from the pictures you did include so I guess you're forgiven.

That actually was not my burger, that was someone else's burger. I had a 100% buffalo burger that was non-greasy and delicious. I lay off the dairy on long trips, dairy and I are kinda like friends that fight a lot. Can't have that on a long trip.

There is a big elevation difference between St. George and Cedar City. And we went from Cedar into to mountains for the rest of the traveling, if you look at the picture of Cedar Breaks, you can see some snow at a little over 10k feet elevation. It was only the last three hours of the ride that were truly miserable hot. I shoulda found a thermometer in Mesquite, I would have won the game forever!

Seems like you had a great trip. Even though I know the burger is the center of attention, I seem more interested in the fries for some reason.
