A Different Kind of Stable?

Well my "stable" sure looks a bit different than the others I've looked at here.  My 650 Nighthawk is the first "real" street bike I've ever had (and I'm already having a blast on it), but I've been pounding around on dirt bikes and "dual sports" for years.  My dual sports have really been full dirt bikes that I kitted up myself to get them plated for the street, and then just used to connect trails rather than really doing much riding on the pavement.

Here's what's in the garage now, I call them the twins.  The 2-stroke is a 2001 KTM 250 EX/C which is actually my "dual sport" bike, legally plated for the street in California.  The 4-stroke is a 2002 KTM 250 EX/C with a HT Racing 351 Big Bore kit, head mods, and stepped head pipes.  I race both bikes, mostly in Enduros, but also a few Hare Srambles and Cross Country races.

My brother traded in his Suzuki DRZ400 for a Husqvarna TE610 this summer...

When I decide to give up racing, probably in the next couple of years, I'll likely sell both my old beat up race bikes and get a nice factory dualsport like that. Husky and KTM both make street legal bikes that are really dirt oriented (based on their off-road race bikes), and with all the land closures we are seeing nowadays having a road legal dirt bike is going to be the only way to get any real riding in.
