Put a new fuel filter in, flushed the old gas out, got it running, rode around the neighborhood, then changed the oil & filter. Cooling system works very well, transmission shifts through all five gears just fine. Brakes work fine. Electrics all work fine. Front shocks are firmer than my NH.

There is an annoying hesitation, so I hooked up a carb synch tool, turns out the left carb is sucking more than the right, no matter how many times I turn the screw.

I suspect that the long plastic tube between the carb and the intake manifold has a leak. It was 95 degrees and I was exhausted when I checked this and said "Ahh, screw it!!!!"   dousing

My arthritis is bothering me, and the wife needs a new medical device, kids complain that I spend too much time with motorcycles, so I decided to put it back together and put it up for sale. Gonna have to wait till I really have the time and patience.

This internet thing is amazing. Just maybe the OP might get a little pleasure out of seeing a new member reading their thread. Just another thought.

I must say I have noticed this on at least one other occasion. I wonder if he feels this is the best use of his time.

Is there some unwritten rule that makes it taboo to revive an old thread? I'm just asking.

Just about every forum I've visited looks down on people who bring back ancient threads without posing something especially helpful, especially when the person in question is just spamming the boards to get enough posts to enter the classifieds, which is obviously the case here since he stopped his posting spree as soon as he had a high enough post count, and then posted his nighthawk up for sale. Reminds me of this picture...

The Noob may have overlooked the posting date while he he was cruising around filling his head with information...and maybe he felt some sympathy toward green427 and was just offering up some kind words.

Something that was not offered by any of the "regulars".

This is not meant as sarcasm even though it may seem as such by some.

Mr. 7 may I comment that if there was not a lag of 2 years would his post be worthy by your standards? So this forum rule held so highly by some. Would it say it is alright to read these old threads but damn sure any additional post better meet some higher post quality.

Yes I would agree that his sudden surge in posting was done to enable his posting in the classified section. Quite possible the creator of those requirements had other ideas in mind. None the less it appears he met the posting requirements. Should there be a "quality of post" requirement? Or time between posts requirement?

Mr. USA you have some valid observations. And if I may I did not see you offer any in your last post, just saying.

If I read this the way it was written, you are saying that although I have made some valid observations...but my last post I did no "offer any".  Did not offer any...as in any kind words for a poster in a two year old thread?  Or I did not offer any valid observations?  You see...what you wrote was ambiguous.

Such a fitting post title...as it turns out...lol.

Mr. USA, let's see if I can clear this up for all.

You made mention of the new member possibly offering some kind words to the OP. One of your valid observations.

You go on to say that no kind words were offered by any of the "regulars". I tried to bring out in my previous post, with my observation, that you did not offer any yourself.

Hopefully that clears it up.

If a member wants to post a relevant comment to a topic that was posted in the past, that is his business and not yours.

I am only going to say this once publicly- if I see this kind of stuff again I'm going to start handing out weekly vacations.

Mind your own business and leave the other members alone.
