Ok I have been an aircraft mechanic, a helicopter flight engineer and other mechanically oriented professions but this is making me feel like a complete idiot.
I can't find the dipstick and oil filler for a 83 Honda Nighthawk CB650SC!
Seriously I feel like a total idiot... of course I am new to the motorcycle world but man oh man!
So could someone please get me to where I need to be...
I ordered a Clymers Manual but I have not received it yet and I need to get this oil change done...
Thanks In Advance

Should be down by the rear brake pedal on the right side of the bike as you're sitting on it if I'm not mistaken. to the forum by the way!

Actually it should be the same as on my 85 - on the LEFT side by the gear shift. It's a black plastic knob looking thing. Make sure you put the bike on the center stand before opening it up or the oil will spill if the bike is on the side stand.

Nope. It's on the left side of the bike by the shifter. Unscrew the cap, which is also the dipstick, and you fill oil from there. There is black plastic cover that you can pop on and off for easier access to the oil filler/dipstick, and it also allows access to the clutch slave cylinder.

Oops was thinking wrong...to lazy to go out to the garage and check the 550...it's late, forgive me.

Thanks I did play with that and as noted above I had not put it in the center stand and oil came out and thought... hell this can't be it...
Well tomorrow I will do the oil change and see how it goes!
Thanks to everyone for their help!

Yeah, I learned that the hard way.

Thanks for not making me feel totally inadequate as a mechanic! I can personally attest that this is NOT that kind of forum. Welcome 787 and Ride Safe.
