My son took the day off yesterday and we decided to take a ride to the blue ridge! i let him ride my 700s and while its no sport bike he said it did very well in the mountains. we were not prepared for the 54 deg weather up there and had to make many stops along the way to warm up. we did 300 miles in 7 hours. my bike (honda st1300) averaged 52 mpg and the 85 700s got 57 mpg! we did the speed limit for the most part. my son thought it was great to ride a bike older than him! he took a few pics....

YEA! A NEW RIDE REPORT!  banana
Nice ride!  biker_h4h1 The route, and the bikes!  Excellent mpg's there!  I thought the ST1300 would get less, but wow!   ricky
Dang it all!  I wanna go for a real ride!  I'm so jealous right now!  Too much school work to do! (Of course lurking here reading ride reports isn't getting it done! lol!)

I've done the upper part of the Shenandoahs, whatever that is called.  Great scenery, great roads.

Good report Mike.  I know you can get great mileage going the speed limit as I did on Cumberland Gap ride in TN this summer where the speed limit was 45-55.  When I filled up at the end of the day I totaled 58 mpg.
