I was reading my August issue of Motorcyclist magazine which I do from cover to cover each month and saw that in the "Smart Money" section that the Nighthawk is still considered a great buy amongst the standards.

Quote from the section..."The Nighthawk may be the most practical motorcycle on the planet." Also, "Hydraulic adjusters mean no valve lash to adjust, and a well cared for example will average 46 MPG for years". This is something I wish Honda would take into consideration and bring this model back to their current US line up of bikes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  lurker

Problem with a bike like the NH 750 is, no maintenece and a bullet proof engine means no $$$ for dealers after the sale.  That and the demographics that are buying the most bikes now want "super sport bikes" and "bad @$$ cruisers".

I was talking about this to a car mechanic friend of mine...I told him how the engines on the NH's were bullet proof and how there was low maintenance to be done on them. Then when I mentioned that they don't sell them any more, he smiled and said: "No wonder...they weren't making any money off of 'em".

I remember reading that too....but I guess people wanted bikes that they have to take to the shop frequently. NH are some of the best practical bikes out there...and probably the best money for your dollar..
