Just a little story that seems to stick in my mind in a retrospective sort of way.

A couple years ago my friend Keith came across a couple bikes. His girlfriend's co-workers wife wanted them out of the garage. One was an 1985 700 and the other was a 1990 CBR1000F. Either bike was started for a few years and only needed the usual back to life things.

As it turned out he got them both free. The hawk needed a good cleaning, battery and carbs.....the CBR only needed a thermostat and battery.

Well he loved the Hawk and was a little scared of the CBR after a minor 10mph rash event. He kept asking me if I wanted to buy it and I purposely ignored the offer calling it an ill-handling whale. I thought my non-interest would lower the already low price.....WRONG!

The bike had 7,000 miles and was mint beside a little faring scrape from his fall over event. Next thing I know the CBR is sold for $1500. He loved and kept the Hawk even tho it's not perfect but runs great.

That CBR was like riding in a limo....and plenty quick too. That was a major screw up on my part, damn!

I too have had offers come my way for some cool bikes that I passed on.  banghead I always end up kicking myself for doing that.

The next time you come across a deal, think back the the CBR incident.  poke
