To come, or to go as long as I am on my nighthawk.

As Laminar stated, after work last night my plans got ruined, so I figured why ruin a good night and decided to go for a ride.  Didn't know where I was going then thought...why not, lets go to Iowa City.  Sadly I didn't see Laminar but got a message saying I see you..lol.  Now des moines to Iowa City is 111 miles and it was about 6 when I left work. I got there about 8 after my gas stop and dinner break, a meal bar from the gas station.  Didn't know what I was going to do once I got there, figured it would be a go turn around and come home...well after I got there I saw signs for a firefighter memorial..decided what the heck.

As you can see from the parking, its just a long shot to the back.

It was getting dark so I do apologize for the quality, I took many different pictures trying to get this one to turn out...hard to see.  If you can't tell what it is, its a firemen coming down a ladder after saving a little girl, on the back side she still has her teddy bear clutched in her hands.

The wall of names

This was at the very end

Coming back towards the parking lot, another angle.

And as always, my only true love!

Not much of a ride report, as this was an unexpected late trip.  Ended up home about 10:15.
That makes 536 miles in the last two days. Training on pause today as the damn rain is stopping me.

Be ready for the next..who knows where I will go..sadly I really don't know either.

Looks like you had a nice ride.  Isn't a ride after a crappy day such a relief?  It is really surprising how meaningful two words can be when arranged as such.  Thanks for sharing!

Cool report.  My brother's a fireman.  The bike is a stress reliever, no doubt.
