Well I finally decided to go ATGATT.  I'm partially there, I currently have a CE mesh jacket that I have worn from day one but I need to get some boots and gloves.  I can't decide if I like the gauntlet style gloves or if I will just go with some wrist type.  Let me know what you guys think....Thanks

as far as gloves go, I recommend the gaunlet if you are planning on having a pair for winter riding too. but for just warm weather, the wrist kind allow more breeze into your jacket.

I have both.  The gauntlet style will be too hot in the summer.

Do you ever ride in the rain?

If so, these are nice: http://www.alpinestars.com/store/productdetails.aspx?productid=244207&cs=1

The unlined gauntlet that I use is the Lee Parks DeerSports glove.  Very light and supple, stretchy.  The pair I crashed with five years ago look rough but are structurally sound, still see occasional use.  Lee Parks also have a shorter  glove called Deertours, but I don't feel comfortable in that sort of thing- but you can still get them in lighter colors that don't suck up heat from the sun like black does.  I've never had a problem with warm wrists.  Made in the USA.

I really want these Chippewa Street Warrior Rally #27862 boots, but there is no place nearby to try them on and I'm reluctant to order 2-3 pairs and send most, or all, back. Can be resoled, and are made in the USA.

My friend has the Aerostich Combat Lite Boots.  I'm not big on the stretchy top, or I'd try them.  Resoleable, made by Sidi (probably Italy).

I have two locations only 5 miles away for those boots. I like them too. How much?

Sheplers has the Chippewa boots for $190 right now.
Their dealers don't necessarily carry the whole line: the average uniform shop or sporting goods store won't have them, and  mad1 Bob's Stores carries some line of Chinese crap with the Chippewa name on it (which were very large for size IMO).

Well, I feel obligated to credit you on your good judgement of quality apparel and accessories Happy.  mol

Nothing like a fine piece of quality workmanship in any arena.  thumb

Maybe I'll go try them on and let you know how true to size they run.

Christmas is comming, maybe Hondo will pop for them showing moderator appreciation.... ImaPoser

For gloves I have a pair of the lined gauntlet style from http://www.huggergloves.com/.  The price is right, and they're waterproof.  Good for colder weather riding.  They also have some lightweight waterproof gloves.

For the summer, I have the Shift racing gloves. Very comfortable and cheap. I got them here.

I still am on the lookout for some warmer gloves for the fall/winter.

As far as boots go, I bought the Icon Super Duty's. They are a little stiff at first but have broken in very nicely. I literally wear them every day at work and play. The only thing I suggest doing to them is adding a gel insole from Wal Mart. Alot of places have them on closeout now for about $68.00 on up.
