Well I finally fixed my oil pan, put some Valvoline 10W40 conventional oil, put in a used BB14L-A2 battery, had to play with some wires but got the engine to turn over wings after playing with the choke after a while (didn't start the engine for a few months). Everything was fine for a while, but after a while when i turn the bike on, the engine lights don't come on, and my gauges don't gimme any feed back, they just stay at their off levels of nothing, but the blinker lights on the dash and on the bike work, and the head and tail lights work, so it's just the gagues and the engine lights that don't come on when the motorcycle does it's "boot-up" before i start the engine, any tips/trick/ideas to what's the problem?

Congratulations on getting it running!

Its probably a blown fuse. Or a loose wiring connector in the front cowl.

I'd just check for a fuse blown, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to clean / dielelectric grease all the connections.

I triple checked my fuses before and they're all in good shape, I'll take both your words for it ariwhiteboy and brettbolt, and check and clean all the wires and fuses...and FYI, if this helps, the lights would come on before but i don't know what happened, i recharged my batt and topped it off over night, sometimes when i hit the kill switch the lights come on when i turn the engine off, but it never turns on when i turn the bike on before the engine, or if i have the bike in gear and try to hit start the neutral light will turn on when i press the start button, don't know if that helps but this is quite the pickle i'm in

UPDATE: Well when my dad was out i snuck out for a ride (i had to scrub away some peels out marks i left in the garage) but what i found was that when i accelerate too much the tail light indicator on the dash comes on during accelerations, but goes off we i'm at normal speed, so i know that...

1) i need to check my tail light connections cause they must be moving around a lot

2) the indicator lights them selfs work, i guess it must be something to do with wiring under the front cowl

A neighbor of mine who is a bit of a bike nut says he changes out his fuses each spring with fresh ones.  It's so easy for a fuse to "look" okay, but not really be.  Might be overkill, but it's cheap insurance.  Maybe I should start doing that.
