I test drove my new bike using a battery I provided. I don't remember how the PO wired it, that is, was the positive terminal on the "outside" of the bike or on the inside?
Could someone tell me how theirs is set up before I head out to buy one? Thanks.

The battery that was on my 1983 650 had the negative battery terminal to the outside with a smaller gauge wire that grounded to the bracket that keeps the battery in. That said I've swapped a battery from another bike with reverse poles while on the road due to a faulty charge system and it can be rigged up both ways. i just had to re-route the negative battery cable.
