I know: change the oil, change the filter.
the oil is a mess, I don't have a filter until Tuesday. I want to add oil, run the engine for a bit, then drain and remove the filter.
So: how much oil will it take with the old filter still in place?
many thanks, guys and gals.

Moot point. Filters arrived today.
I drained out the black, goopy oil, drained the old filter, added oil with about 3/4 cup of Seafoam. Ran the bike for fifteen minutes or so: got it warmed up. Drained the oil: black as night.
Now a new filter, no Seafoam; just oil.
