Well first off I came home and went to the shop to finish the bike. Fixed the steering issue, have any idea what it was ?

Dropped the right fork and put the clutch line in front of the damn thing so it wasn't pinched off in left turns.

Found out my screw hold down on the speed oh cable is half busted off  mad1

Got it all put together and dumped in a large amount of Sea Foam. then filled with gas, 87. while looking at this sticker on the back side of the right side cover is it seems to me that it says run 91 in it. ??

Any ways I put that bike to the test.. These older bikes are not the same other than the name, HONDA.

But, what a fun bike, the sitting posistion is more comfy to me. I made some video's and they came out not so bad. No time to load tonight, have to get the sled ready for OH Dark Thirty fishing trip.. Hot as HELL this weekend so we are sticking by water.. Here's a few pictures.. It seems to have some clunking in the shaft, U-Joint ?? Tranny has made some clunking noise's to ?? Not happy. Didn't do it when I road it ?

Girls in bed..

Don't worry, that 91 RON means 87 in our world. They are equal. Use 87.  burnout burnout

What do you mean clunky.....that's not a nice way to talk about our old 700's.  scratcher

Just don't force the shifting, it's not synchro. Use the clutch to smooth it out, they last a long time. You'll end up with a bent/broken shifting fork and really have something to complain about.  bugey yikes Cry

He's not used to 10,700rpm...the 750 would be gernading spinning that high.

No...my rev limiter kicks in at 11,500...so I'm not sure why it has a 10,000 red line  scratcher

Ah...could just be error in the RPM gauge. But I have read some articles that indicate that the rev limiter is @ 11,500 and I've read others that say its @ 10,500.

Either way, realistically you can rev as high as you want, but you need the displacement for the power. Thats why something like a GSXR1000 is the perfect engine. It has the best of both worlds: Big displacement and can rev to the moon. I think its red line is up above 12000 RPM.

Just wait till you go riding with someone that has a faster bike. Like when I ride with my buddy who has the GS1100e. I'm always revving the snot out of my bike trying to keep up...and staying in the 6000 - 9000 RPM range is not uncommon.

Sometimes, this is why I'd like to upgrade to that ZRX1200. That way keeping up to folks is much easier.

Well I had a bit to much of  friday last night. Didn't go fishing but may to morrow.  I'm taking off again today on the bike to get an extra key made..

Won't ever find me making a bike scream like that. When shifting from 3rd to 1st is finds neutral between 3rd and 2nd and it don't sound so good. I'll just easy and positive, look for a parts bike but I'm sure it will last me a long time.. Still a bit bumbed..

Maybe it just needs the cobwebs blown out of it. Send me a plane ticket, get the crabs boiling, make sure there's plenty of Becks and Jack and I'll take care of breaking her in for you.  rayof rayof

Enough of this grandma riding....that bike is waiting for a good thrashing.  bugey

I think that's the problem. Beck's, Yuk. Well I did some more testing, seems to be loose in the gear box area. Head light keeps going out ?? Gota smack the fuze box, have to pull all that front end stuff off and see what's going on..

That O/D drops the RPM's about 500 from what I see. This thing has a crazy sound out those pipes. Do they all do that. Sounds like after marked but the rivets are OEM, un-touched ??

I put up the bikes till it cools off, we gona melt the next 4 days...

You told us about the cable.

I'll bring my magic tuning kit with me and trade services if the crabs are boiling when I get there.

When shifting from 3rd to 1st is finds neutral between 3rd and 2nd and it don't sound so good.

This used to happen with my previous engine.
Its actually not the shift forks. Its the shift drum (#8) is worn a bit and the shift drum stopper (#17).
I used to find that as long as I didn't blip the throttle while down shifting and if I pre-loaded the shift lever and did a smooth, clean shift, it would hardly ever do it.

Keep looking for that parts bike...

The drum....no
the drum stopper....yes

Drum you have to lift it straight out of the case. The shifting forks prevents it from just sliding out the side.
