I agree with Jenn about the Corbin Seat. It really makes a big difference. The only thing I don't like is where the seat goes up behind me. It seems like it is too far back, I like to sit a little more forward on the seat. It seems to put me leaning forward too much. But the ride couldn't be better, and long distance is so much better. Now that I am used to it short distance is better too. Rusty

I've looked and looked at how I would sit in one. It looks like I would sit back and Like to be almost on the tank.. Glad someone pointed that out..

I only had time to pull it out of the box and briefly check it out but it looks great. Everything is intact and in perfect condition. I'll get it mounted tonight and take some pics to post.

And that's why this forum rocks. I may swing by the local auto parts places on the way home tomorrow to see if they carry any.

Don't settle for other brands...SEM only. You might have to go to an automotive paint supply store to get it.
I'm not kidding...it's what the pros use on car interiors, panels, seats etc. You won't believe what a great product it is. I never used the clear coat after and had no problems.
It's also for faded carpet in your car.

Cool...both the seat and the SEM.
After my little clutch blowup on the Yamaha last week, I got some DOT 3 on some black plastic panels on the bodywork and now they're all gray and faded in spots. I'll try some of that!

Is there any chance of rubbing off and marring the paint on the tank?

NO, the stuff is totally permanent. It applies well keeping the same distance between the seat and can throughout the entire spray. Closer is a bit of gloss (not much) further gets flatter tone. The stock # I showed you is a perfect match. The exact can in the picture is what you want. It's very pliable and not stiff feeling.

Trust me, it rocks. There are also some shades of pink for you too. That same color, satin black is perfect, not too shiny. Matches the plastics like the controls and such perfectly and WON'T rub off. I've done four seats with it so far and you wouldn't ever know they weren't brand new. Even the pebbling shows as original. Very consistant spray blend. It seems to fuse together to give a very even appearance. I did my seat with it about 2-3 years ago and still can't believe how perfect it stayed. Not a blemish or rub mark anywhere. Even the edges of the small piece of masking tape over the white Honda name on the back were not visible.

Ooh, so I could use it to freshen up the lower fenders on the Nighthawk as well then? You may have just made my decision for me.

Just get whatever you spray clean first with isopropyl alcohol or thinner. It bonds like forever.

Just about everyone says the Russell Day-Long seat is the best out there. Haven't heard a single complaint about them. They are the funny looking seats with "wings". Problem is, they are in the $400-$600 range. They are expensive, but worth it if you ride long-distance. I had one fitted for my weight and ride position on the KLR650 I rode to South America. Best purchase ever! When you ride 200+ mile days, every day for months, you begin to appreciate these saddles. Ironically, I bought that bike used with a Corbin saddle and HATED it! As a prelude to the long ride south, me and a couple other nuts did a Saddle-Sore 1000 on our 650 thumpers. Sick, right? That Corbin was the most awful saddle I had ever experienced. I rode most of that trip sitting on the pillion, the most comfortable position at the time. That said, I've had a Corbin on my old 1991 CB750 and loved it! I just placed an order for another one for my 1997 CB750 and can't wait to get a hold of it. T

The new seat is way more firm than the stock seat but if seats are anything like beds the firmer the better for my aching bones.

I took the bike out for a quick spin down the highway last night after our weekly bike night and I must say I am impressed with the new seat.
It really is much more of a "saddle" than a seat. I like the the seating position is further back than the stock seat. I can understand why biometric's wife didn't like the back seat though. It is rather small compared to the stock one.
