OK all know I have both now. I rode the 700S today to work. Kinda weird and spooky as I ride the Interstate about 20 miles and in the dark. These bikes to me are so differant in all aspects.

I love that O/D gear on the 700S, it's more quick on the steer. Any ways I having fun, not sure I'll keep riding to work. I didn't buy it for that.

Anyone ells have input on riding both ?

I owned them both for a few months. Then I sold the 700S. It does steer quicker and it has more speed off the line for sure. I kept the 750, though, because it is much more comfortable for me, has a larger tank, has far fewer engine troubles overall, and it generally the commuter/grocery getter/sometimes tourer I want it to be. I found the frame on the 700S to flex too much for my taste, but in a straight line is was golden.

If I had room, I'd have kept that 700S. But if I can only have one, it's the 750.

I have both, my '96 750 and an '84 700S.  My son rides the 84 at the moment, but when we ride together, we trade off sometimes.  The 700 feels more cramped to me, the seat is smaller as is the tank, and the handlebars are closer together.  I feel more comfortable leaning the S than I do the 750, but I can out-lean both with the ST.  If my son gave the bike back today, I'd probably just sell it, I wouldn't ride it much.

I don't own nor have I ever rode a late model 750. But I can tell by looking at it, that it would be a more comfortable ride then my 750s.
Even though both offer upright seating, I can see how the NH S is 'tighter' and the handle bars are closer together.
I do wonder how the suspension compares between both bikes too?

I've ridden several newer 750's.  The most noticible difference is the power band.  The 750's power is gradual and much smoother, v/s the 700 "hit" at 7K and 9K.  As I've said before, in my experiences, both bikes are very close in straight line performance.

The typical differences in ride between a shaftie and chain bike are apparent between the 700 and 750.

The 750 is more upright.  The 700's smaller front wheel makes it a little more steering sensitive I think.

The 750's wider gas tank is noticible on the legs, but not burdensome.

I like both of them.
