Is it possible to put a cb750 engine on a 450night hawk, Does a 450 trans work with a 750 engine? I know the 450 is a parallel 2 cylinder and the 750 is a inline 4. I just got a great deal on this 450 and im a 250lb dude and would like more power. Or would it be possible to just swap in a 750with its 5spd trans. this 450 doesnt run great so I dont know what im going to do with it, might resell it and try to find a 750.

Also is there any tips and tricks to getting the carbs on this 450 to work good after sitting for a year, it runs but wont idle.

Sorry I am new to motorcycles but im a good mechanic on cars and I figure cycles cant be that hard.

Thanks.

hello comrade_charlie and welcome to NHF. how do you plan to support the front of the 750 motor in the 450 frame and does the rear of the 750 motor mount to the 450 frame? sounds like a project not worth the $$. clearance issues between the front wheel and header pipes , aligning the rear sprocket and front sprocket, legnth and height difference between the two motors. you'll have to use pod filters so you 750 carbs will need to be rejetted. sell the 450 and get something bigger
