Well, I've been PM'ing with Gregfish about his Nighthawk. I asked him to make me a steal offer, and he did - $1,800.00. Wasn't too sure about the yellow but yesterday, I got a wild hair and drove 400 miles to look at it. Greg very politely offered to drive about 150 miles south to Montgomery, AL to help me out. The bike checked out and I bought it. Cleaned her up this morning and rode about 100 miles. The yellow is gorgeous. I really like it. The bike is very smooth. Bike handles very well - different from the 700, but not worse. Tires (BT-45s) are brand new. Came with the Hondaline luggage rack/sissy bar, crash bars, highway pegs, progressive shocks (they are awesome!!), a tail bag that is made for the sissy bar, a Slipstreamer Enterprise wind screen (haven't mounted it - I think I want a smaller one), and the Honda shop manual!! It's missing a gear I think the neutral safety switch is bad. The green neutral light stays on in 1st and 2nd. But otherwise, it needs nothing and I could not be more satisfied. I've got a ton of questions for you cb750 people, but I'll post them on a different thread. Looking forward to putting a lot of miles on this bike.

So since you have a "touring bike" now does that mean you're riding over here?

I saw that bike in craigslist. There is a 91 750 with 20k miles on it for 1400 that popped up today.
My neutral light stays lit sometimes in 2nd but it is not lit as bright as when it is really in neutral. Never lit in first though.

I said it on Gregfish' thread that is a great looking bike. No more trucking to your riding destination. A steal for you when Gregf needed a deal, so good all around. Get those BT 45s ready for tearing up 3 Sisters.

Very nice. I've never ridden either of the bikes you've had (or most likely will) but I'm curious how is the handling different?

But she found one of the best homes possible!

Greg - I ripped you off, plain and simple. It's a fine bike. The color is beautiful (SOQS approves) and with my blue jacket - I'm kind of stylish! I did spend about an hour this morning washing and detailing her, but truthfully, you kept her up so nice, it was mostly so I could get to know more about the bike. I rode her about 150 miles today and I am totally satisfied. The invite here is open ended - if you find your way to South LA, I'd love to buy you (or cook you) a Cajun dinner. It's the very least I could do. I don't think the purchaser of RWB will be joining the forum. The bike is a sore subject in his house and I think he is letting sleeping dogs lie. CB - looking forward to spreading my wings. Don't know if that will be at Ari's (775 miles), but I'm definitely planning to ride with Nate (and hopefully others) to Hill Country in October. Now, for some impressions. First, I love the stock exhaust - it's so quiet. I thought I like the Mac Header - I LOVE the quiet stock exhaust. The powerband on the 750 is very smooth. It basically pulls the same throughout the rpm range. The low end on the 750 is much more useable - I can turn corners in 3rd gear and she pulls right up - the 700 would lag a little until I get to 5K or so, then at 7K, the 700 explodes. The tranny on the 750 is much smoother. The clutch is tigher on the 750. The front brake on the 750 is better. The turn signal indicator on the 750 is in a perfect position (between the tack and speedo). On the 700, it's much lower, and I often forget to cancel my signals. On the 750, you can't forget. The riding position on the 700 is more sporty, less upright. In the twisties, I can see how the 700 might be just a little more fun. Just a little. The 750's larger front tire requires a little more steering imput. But the big improvement on the 750 is the suspension. The front forks are much better all around. And the progressive shocks on the back of the 750 I bought are absolutely amazing. The PO had them on the stiffest setting, I backed them down to the 2nd to softest setting and they are amazing. I mean it's unbelievable. The seat on the 750 is much more comfy. I wish I was riding right now.

WOW, Hp that's a sharp bike, better looking than my black 92. Honda had a great looking engine blacked out to. You asked me to give input on the 2 I have, 85-92. You sir Know how explain things.. Your nail on, but I do love that new 85 I have and just got back from some more riding her.
I'm glad you have up'd it a bit in newer bike's. You guys out there have riding weather longer than we do out West. I do love how my bike rides with the new suspension to. Everyone that has a newer NH should do that up grade, Have fun Hp..
Small wind shield is a must.

The best part of yesterday's ride was getting petting and getting licked by someone's golden retriever. See ride report at http://dalewarren.blogspot.com/
