I can't say. It depends.
My closest experience to yours was (attempting) to dial in the stock carbs on my project, an abused '81 KZ440. Fuel was shooting out the tail pipes several times, maybe a tablespoonful per second, as I made mistakes and learned a whole lot about what NOT to do.

Get the floats tested first. You may have to wait on the manual for that. If you simply must work on your bike in the meantime (we know the feeling!), it would be a very good idea to, one by one, go through the grounds and connectors and fuses all over the bike, carefully checking them for corrosion and cleaning when necessary. Lube the throttle cables. Learn how to bleed the brakes. Change the final drive fluid. (shaft drive and 6 speeds, why do I not have one of these bikes already?!) Lube the speedo cable.
There's plenty to do, just don't mess with those floats till you have the manual and the right equipment in hand.
