I understand, but once a battery has dried up, in my experience, it will never work the same again. In regards to the pics. Sign up for a free account at www.photobucket.comUpload you pics to their, and it will give you the static address of the pic and the img tags that you can just copy and paste here.

Hey photobucket works. It's missing a gastank bolt, washer, spacer, o-ring and nut. Also, I'm thinking of making sure the fluid leves are all good and just hooking up my car battery to it, giive it some ether and sea foam and see if it'll start. Could that harm it?

As long as the car's not running and you DON'T hook it up backwards you're fine.
If you're trying to avoid having to pull the carbs, just suck it up and do it, otherwise you'll waste hours and hours trying to chase down minute running issues when you could have pulled and cleaned right from the start.

Well, it ain't starting anyway and I've already done the petcock and lost an o-ring down the drain.
Guess I'll do the carbs, sigh.
I just wanna hear it run.

Sorry about the disorganized posts. I keep running into trouble, getting exaspertaed, asking for help then figuring it out myself twenty minutes later. I got the carb apart - it's soaking in Pinesol right now. Thanks for the help, guys.

If I remember correctly, this story did not end well for surrey_boy. I think he abandoned this project.
