I keep seeing people asking about a sissybar/backrest for the 700S and most people saying they're impossible to find but there's one on Ebay currently.

That back rest/luggage rack is an aftermarket one. I had one that was identical to it, but was made for my 81 GS650g. I forget the name of the company, but it is somewhat of a universal design. The arms on the side are telescoping to adjust for various bike mounts. That one looks like it might have been painted black or powder coated black. The on on my GS was chrome. Also the pouch is identical to the one I had.

Looks like it fits fairly well. Telescoping might be hard to replicate..

If anyone is interested, I could make replica's of mine for cost plus shipping and maybe a little for my time. Wouldnt be much over cost tho.  Up to them, can take pictures. Its a high back and I love using it when I am parked.

Hey NighthawkNut, I'm driving up through NC tonight on my way to visit family in VA.  I go right past Thomasville.  It would be a shame, a real shame, if "an accident" befell your beautiful bike.

Know what I'm saying?

 coollaugh

Just playing, yeah I got a bid in, everyone is welcome to get in the mud and wrestle with me for it. muhaha muhaha

When I bought my 85 Nighthawk S it came with the backrest/sissy bar. It's not in pristine condition but it is the real deal. I was not aware of it's elusiveness.

Holy crap! Who in their right mind would bid that high for an aftermarket non stock back rest? I'm pissed that I only got $185 for the sissy bar/back rest off my 650 now. mad1  Oh wait, that paid for the parts to fix it and reimbursed almost half the purchase cost. Hap1
