I have recently purchased an 84 Nighthawk. The brake pads were definitely worn so I decided to change them. Of course this turned into a larger project than I had anticipated. After pulling the callipers and replacing the pads it was time to remount the callipers this is where all of the problems started. The left calliper went right on without any issues. However, when I tried to put the right calliper on I noticed it would not seat correctly. For some reason it seems like the sleeve to the calliper bolt is catching on the bracket causing the calliper to go on crooked. Not sure why this is. I also noticed that the disc on the right side is worn and grooved which makes me think the last time this was done the person who did it just forced it on. Basically I am lost right now which is unfortunate because I live in Orlando and the weather right now is perfect for riding. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

i believe you answered your  question. if i were you, i wouldn't play around with your brakes. replace all that doesn't look right. thumb

yesterday's primary fuels are todays alternative fuels...maybe we shouldn't have tried to fix something that wasn't broke.
