I never EVER see a NH other than a 250 last fall. Yesterday I seen a Red 700S
with a chrome rear rack and a hard bag on it.. The person was in rain riding gear and the bike was dirty so I bet it's a daily driver.

I was so amazed that while watching it go by I started to drive off the road towards the guard rail, that sucked into the direction of what your looking at.

I was so happy when I got home I took off on my 700S for some new spinners for fishing. My luck, Rain met me half way.. OH well, so have any of you seen a NH or even a 700S ?

Only on the internet, I don't think they're real to be honest  ImaPoser

I used to see 'm a lot since the weehawks were often used by driving schools as learners bikes over here. But since I own one myself, never in the flesh.

What is Bike Night ??

I don't know about the previous poster but I get together with 5 or 6 buddies every wednesday night at my buddy's house down the street to work on our various bikes.  He has the best tools and his wife gave up on every parking in the garage long ago so we all have at least one project there at all times it seems.  naughty

Some weeks we got lots done. Some weeks we just get a lot of beer drank. Hap1 I currenly have my KZ400 cafe racer project down there so I can finally finish it now that I have the Nighthawk for a reliable daily rider.

When I commute all the way in to Washington, DC I park in the metered Motorcycle spaces about a block from where I work.  There are about 12 spaces, but I have never seen more than 6 or so cycles.  On multiple occassions, I have come back to my bike at the end of the day to find a 1990's era 750 nighthawk parked next to my '83 650... the other bike is of course in much newer condition than mine, but I have never met the owner.

I have also seen several nighthawks driving in traffic in DC, but never when I have been on my own bike...

SO they do exist, you guys just haven't been in the right place.

I have had lots of bikers, walk up to me while I am parking someplace and say "Great Bike" what year is it.  They are astounded to learn that it is 27 years old.

I saw a Red/Orange 700S in my town while sitting at a light. I wanted to run it. That was the FIRST time I had heard the sweet sound of the 700 from behind..

I can't remember if I have seen an S or not but I know I've seen 700's. NHs aren't all that uncommon around here but you rarely see them at the motorcycle gathering places. They tend to be commuters so you see them on the road, tucked in the corner of parking lots or next to house/apartments.

I've passed the odd Nighthawk S on the highway. And there is a guy who runs a convenience store a few miles away who owns a red 85 in pretty good shape. I stopped into his store one time to chat. He was very self centered and was only interested in telling me about _his_ NH S and he didn't care about mine. I told him about this site and even asked if he wanted to ride sometime. He didn't seem interested and brushed the ride idea off by saying he only rides 2 or 3 times a summer because he is too busy to ride.

In general NH S's are rare around my town. But they are more abundant in the larger cities near by, like in Toronto or Ottawa.

The late model 750's are even more rare in Canada. I think they were only sold here from 91-93. I rarely see them around or for sale in the bigger cities.

I have seen at least 3 or 4 riding around. A few days ago I was looking for Photo Tags and pulled in to get a pic with what I though was a HD. It wasn't but there was a beater 750NH parked there. Doesn't look like it here but it was dirty and used. Like they should be.  thumb

We need to have some magnets made with nighthawk-forums.com on them so we can leave it with bikes like this. Just stick it to the tank.

NH's seem to be rare here in the Nashville area. In the 15 months that I have had mine I have only seen 1 other 750.
Some guy had a 92 NH here on Craigslist..........selling it as a parts bike. Thats about the only one I have seen on CL around here.
I dont get it.

OK I seen that bike again on the way home with in 100 yards of yesterday's sighting.. It has OEM hard bags as well.

I've seen a few this season buzzing around, and I saw one ride right down my street twice. I think it's someone in my development but I haven't been able to track it down.

It was Labor Day weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, most likely the latter.

I've seen a couple of 750's in my area. There's a blue one that I've seen a couple of times in the last 2 weeks as I've been riding in to work. I've only seen 1 other 550, and I was in my cage at the time with SOQS. I wanted to chase him down to say hi and compare notes, but my co-pilot gave me THE LOOK  DirtDOG and I changed my mind.

On the other side, I've run into several people around here that previously owned NHs, including my former neighbor (who owned a 700s), some guy that stopped to help me with an electrical problem when my bike died at a convenience store, and a couple of other miscellaneous acquaintances.

But the best one happened last year when I was working at my cop job. A guy and a girl came into the PD and approached the public window. I was the only one working. The guy nervously said, "Do you know who owns the motorcycle parked outside?" My heart skipped a beat and I had a vision of my bike laying in pieces in the lot. I told him I was the owner, caressing my sidearm (OK, not really...but I wanted to). He said, "I just wanted to say that I love your bike. I have an '83 550 that I completely rebuilt and love it. It's the best bike I've ever owned. I've NEVER seen another one on the road. So when I drove by and saw it, I had to meet the owner."

He went on to comment on how clean my bike looked. When I told him I bought it that way with only 10k miles on it, he called me one lucky SOB.

We went on chatting for 30 minutes or so while his girlfriend stood by and mostly rolled her eyes. It turned out he lived out west somewhere and was just visiting the area. But he gave me his home and cell number and told me to call him if I ever had any repair questions.

I told him about this forum, but I don't know if he ever checked it out.
