Well, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see another 700s on the road around here. Been looking for 2 years.
Did see a very nice CB1000 (The Big One) parked in town yesterday.

To come, or to go as long as I am on my nighthawk.

Ha, timely thread. I saw my first 700S on Monday - a red one, with a red-helmeted rider, blasting toward Northern Blvd. in Astoria/Long Island City, in Queens. Love their sound.

Yea what is that guy thinking, riding his motorcycle instead of washing it. Crazy I tell ya. Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk

Earlier this week I was caging it home from work and I saw a guy pass me going the opposite direction on another 550. I seriously thought about doing a U-ey and chasing him down. Does that make me odd?

If it does, I'm odd as well. I think I'd want to do the same thing. Not like there's a whole lot of us.

Not odd at all! I almost did the same thing today when I saw a guy on a 650 this afternoon. I deliver stuff for my job so i see them occasionally. There's actually an 02 750 for sale right next to one of my customers. It's a used bike shop.

I had an interesting experience at the end of my group ride on Sunday. I was making my way home and took a slight detour to get some photo-tag shots. I realized I needed gas and pulled into the next station I saw. The ride I was doing didn't have a specified route, so people were taking whatever paths they wanted. Several were riding by this gas station and there were a number that had stopped there. I finished pumping gas and started walking in to use the bathroom. Then something caught my eye. Over at another pump was another 550. There was a guy standing near it, so I walked over and, all excited-like, pointed to the bike and said, "Nice choice in ride." He looked at me puzzled, then walked over to the other side of the pump where his car was parked. I turned around and saw a guy walking out of the C-store and coming towards me. As he got closer I asked if it was his bike. He said it was. So we pulled our bikes away from the pump and spent 30-45 minutes comparing notes. His bike was in much rougher condition than mine, so he said he was impressed with how clean mine was. I discovered that he was the same guy I followed for a short while on the same organized ride from last fall. In fact, he pulled into the exact same gas station back then. I was going to follow him but again, didn't want to appear like a stalker. I also saw his bike parked at the meet-point for the ride last year and made several unsuccessful passes looking to meet him. We ended up exchanging contact info and I invited him to the forum. Who knows, maybe we'll meet up again in the future. It sure seems fated to happen.

I remembered I had some pics of the bike I mentioned: Here's the shot I took last year. And here it is this year, next to mine. [EDIT: I just noticed the KZ1000 in the background - nice!]

Saw one today parked in front of a New Seasons in North Portland as I was passing by on the train. I didn't really see the instrument cluster, but it looked like a '90s 750 with a Corbin seat.

Saw a red 700s. It was at night and in the opposite direction stopped at a red light. I was in the cage with SOQS. The headlight and shape of the fairing was unmistakable, even with the glare from other headlights in my eyes...I've seen a few around SF...

I bought my Nighthawk a year ago tomorrow, and today I've finally seen one. At my local dealer though, not on the road where they belong.
It's a red '84 with 28.000mls on her and she looked to be in good shape and complete even though she isn't very pretty. It's obviously used in the winter here as well judging by the salt marks. A guy just traded her in this morning on a 2006 CB600S which I also happen to test-drive last week.

What was your impression of the CB600S? Is that the same or similar to the CBF600S?? Those bikes are not available here though I wish Honda would change their minds and bring them over.

I think that's pretty much the same bike, if not exactly. It was kind of confusing to be honest. The first half of the test ride I was totally amazed. It feels so light and does everything so easily, just think what you wanna do and the bike does it. The faring did a great job keeping me out of the wind at highway speeds and above without to much buffeting (I'm 5'8") and it loved to go flat out through corners, But on the way back it somehow became boring already. I was missing something that I find hard to describe. Some sort of challenge comes closest perhaps. I'd describe it as a perfect motor but with no character at all, but that of course is very personal. Can't think of a better starters bike with a little oemph though. The one I tried also had ABS btw, which I didn't like because it links the front and rear brake together. It can be turned off though, which also un-links the breaks.

You're welcome. I forgot to mention the seat btw, it's long enough to accomodate longer riders as well (I could slide backward on it quite a bit) but it isn't very good. It feels to thin and and on the one I tried there also was a ridge right in the middle of the seat that was really annoying even through my leathers. Not sure if they all have of course, but it's something to keep an eye on.

I encountered a nearly identical NH 750 (also red) near my 'regular Saturday' route. I waved, he became all enthusiastic and pointed to the engine; I just had the bike, so I didn't realize the coincidence of the matter. Haven't seen one since (have seen a CB 750 SF though).

I have been seeing a 650 Nighthawk a couple times around town. Today, I found out that it is a good acquaintance of mine. He came into my work today and we talked Nighthawks for a little while.

Today I saw group of five bikes from the Queensboro M.C. Club cruising west on the Long Island Expressway. One was a Tahitian Blue 750 with the backrest and a fairing. Looked good!

Was at an event last weekend with Gammer and over 800 bikes were present. This was the only Nighthawk I saw except for our 2. It looks better than it really was. Some cracked plastic pieces on the side.

I went out for a ride today. Saw a really nice 750 go right by me. It sounded great, had some sort of aftermarket exhaust. Sad part was the guy was wearing a baseball hat backwards, shorts, t-shirt and tennis shoes. Hope he doesn't learn the hard way.

I'm seeing a lot of 750's lately, but usually they are pretty ratty and abused.
