Got a nice all leather Thor Supermoto jacket yesterday for $100. Its pretty heavy duty, and seems to be well built. I know they make motorcross gear, not really street stuff. Does anyone have any past experience with their products? Its black and white with a reflective Thor logo on the back...really good looking jacket, thick, should offer some good protection. I have an armored vest that fits right under it for spine and chest protection, so the lack of armor isnt much an issue. What do you guys think? Should I have held out for a "street jacket", or does it matter? Is there any difference that would matter between mx and street? It seems alittle more roomy, but thats ok because it fits the vest.....just curious. Sorry if I sound dumb, but i've heard alot in the past about "dont wear off-road stuff on the street" , but does it really matter with jackets? It just seemed like a great deal to me.
Kinda resembles the one in the pics thats alpine stars...

If it's sturdy, fits and you like it, I say run with it.
Any protection is better than no protection.

In my limited experience, off road rider's don't wear leather jackets. It's cut like a street bike jacket... and reflective things usually are on street bike jackets.
In my opinion, it doesn't look like you bought an off road jacket.

I think "Supermoto" is technically part street anyway.

I like it. I wonder though, what about your shoulders and elbows? Has it got double stitched seams?

That's a nice looking jacket. Like was said before, MXers don't wear leather in the dirt so, it is most likely for street use or, it's just a fashion thing. Either way, leather will protect you more than nothing at all. Plus, if you have the armor to wear undernieth it, you should be good to go.

Design looks familiar.
Take a look at the place of manufacture on your tag. Is it made in Pakistan?

I was recently looking for a leather jacket. I noticed everyone I tried on was made in Pakistan. I also saw the same thing mentioned in a couple of reviews for other jackets. What gives?
I actually found a couple of companies made in America, but they were 5 times the cost of blacklabel82's.
I ended up buying a textile coat made in China.

Considering cows and sheep are sacred over there, makes me wonder what living creatures' skins were used to make jackets?

Looks like a good jacket, and I'm pretty sure unless it's vintage 1970's then it was designed for street use. Haven't seen alot of motocrossers tooling around in black leather jackets lately so you're probably good!

I've got to get a pic of it. Its not the same one on HC's post, but I did see that one at the shop....actually looked really nice, but did fit kinda loose. It is double stitched from what i can tell. My vest has armor in the chest / back / over the ribs / and the top of the shoulders. Its pretty solid, I feel like it would serve its purpose. For the summer I have a Powertrip Mojave Mesh jacket with full armor. ATGATT for me....saved me a time or two for sure. The vest is a cool item I picked up for about $30 in a shop that was goin out of business. The jacket fits right over it with, but its not loose...its nice and snug like its supposed to be. There is some padding in the elbows, feels pretty thick, and has a slight pre-curved fit to the arms. I think it will hold up good. It is made in Pakisan. Every jacket that I looked at there that was leather was made in Pakistan,,,,,,hmm????
