I was looking through the forums and I couldn't find anything like it so I thought I would start a thread where we could show what type of riding gear we are using. For example: Helmet - HJC IS-16 Jacket - Sliders Kevlar Waterproof Quest All-n-One Jacket Gloves - Just plain leathers. 3M thinsilated gauntlets(for colder weather) Pants - Jeans (Hoping to get some kevlar pants once the $$ finds its way back to me) Boots - Icon field armor chukka boots. So there is my riding gear. What do you guys use? *And just so we're clear I'm ATGATT

First Gear Kili Air Jacket (air mesh - black and yellow) First Gear air mesh overpants High end leather hiking boots Shoei RF1000 (clear and reflective tinted visor, chin curtain and breath guard - screaming yellow) Power Tripp leather gloves with carbon fiber knuckes (punching the ground while crashing with them is a good thing) Ear plugs All that's useless without constant proficiency riding and a clear mind for riding.
There's no such thing as adequate amount of gear when physics is involved. Want more, lots more.
I don't like the hideous colors, fit and crashworthiness of a lot of gear on the shelves. I'm slowly collecting information to make my own custom crash gear from scratch. It'll be spendy however money is irrelevant when the earth body slams you.

My latest helmet is the HJC IS-Max - I really like the integrated sun shield - I wear 2 different jackets, an older TourMaster and a newer FirstGear TPG Rainier Textile Jacket- I wear Olympia mest overpants when it's hot and Tourmaster "Overpants when it's cold. For boots I have been wearing a pair of Tourmaster Solution waterproof boots - http://www.tourmaster.com/xcart/catalog/Solution-WP-Road-Boot-p-82_7.html I wear dedicated motorcycle gloves of different types for the different weather I see here in Colorado.

Scorpion EXO-900 helmet with part of the Arrow Head reflector sticker system Bilsom PerFit earplugs and ~6 year old Lee Parks Deersports gloves (black, because the gold ones I have look nasty against the ... Aerostich Roadcrafter 2-piece I bought in September 2001. Actually more yellow than shown...but due for replacement. These crappy Triumph Explorer boots are easily 4 or 5 years old and due for replacement (gotta pair of Chippewa boots in mind) as the heel is worn through.

The Aerostich suits are $$$ but if you keep an eye out on ebay you can get them used for much less. I'm sure HC will agree that they are pretty much one of the finest pieces of MC gear made. Right now on my budget I can't justify purchasing one but I will be picking one up in the next year or two. I figure as much time as I spend on a bike it is logical to have a really good suit.

It was like $747 in 2001 when I bought it. The one piece is a better deal, but I lack the cajones to wear a dayglo yellow unitard. Even with the costly soap to wash it, this was amortized quickly and I never looked back.
The suit I have that is more expensive is a simple gray herringbone two button. Custom made, will last decades, won't take impact, abrasion or weather nearly as well.
Actually my friend went berserk with the customizations and somehow rung his one-piece Roadcrafter up to over $1200. He got to use it in a delightful 'man bites dog' incident where he changed lanes into a Volvo wagon.

AFX FX100 FF helmet. I love this lid and the integrated sun visor. Technic Armored textile jacket Joe Rocket armored textile jacket (for colder weather) Shift Street gloves. (I still need to get colder weather gloves) Icon Super Duty 3 boots. (Waiting for the Super Duty 4 boots to come out in November)
I still need to get pants other than my Levis.

I'm on my second helmet with an internal flip down sun shield. My present helmet is a Scorpion EXO-1000. I really like it 'cept for the lack of air flow.
My textile (hot weather) Tour Master jacket has served me pretty well for five years, except for one seam separating.
My Alpinestars road race boots and leather jacket have excellent fit, finish and overall protective qualities. No complaints.
My Tour Master four season textile pants dont see much action, but no complaints there. I wear my kevlar Icon denim pants every day. No complaints there other than I just dont like the brand because of the childish styling. They have held up very well.
I have a 'cold weather' pair of leather Fieldshear long gauntlet kevlar road race gloves that are 17 years old, that I wear to this day. Excellent gloves. For hot weather I have Joe Rocket perforated leather short gauntlet gloves that are about 4 years old and showing some wear, but no holes.

I saw one of those suits at a garage sale this summer. The guy wanted $75 apiece for the jacket and pants. I've been in the market for overpants all summer, but it was more than I wanted to spend. The were very sun-bleached and almost pink in some spots. The guy said he put nearly 100,000 miles on them since he'd owned them. After I passed, I went home and looked them up and went . Unfortunately it was too late to go back and try again.

Olympia Airglide jacket and pants. Over 80 degrees I switch to a First Gear full mesh jacket. Belleville Air Force hot weather boots or Diadora boots for cooler temps. Favorite Gloves are Power Trip I have 2 HJC CL-SP helmets. I get almost everything on clearance so I'm not really picky about colors and such.
