Sunrise/Sunset Picture Thread
« on: August 03, 2014, 08:35:57 PM »
We had a great thread going on the old NHF for sunrise/sunset pics.  Anyone can post here.  Some of you on the forum may not want to post a ride report but a single pic of a sunset is easy.  I took a late evening ride just an hour or so ago and saw the sun setting over the trees as I was riding down a country road.  I took just a few minutes to pull over and snap a few with my cheap flip phone.  If that's all you got then it will do, so how 'bout some more pics NHF members.

Sorry, no bike in these shots, but they're both from my recent trip around Lake Superior.

Sunrise over the pier and lighthouse at Grand Marais, MI:

Sunset over Wilson Lake, outside of Mercer, WI:

Sunrise on the Juniata River.  Juniata County PA.  It's a great morning at 55 degrees and full sun.

Did a quick search through my photo archives.  Don't have many sunrise/sunset photos but found a few that were nice.

Sunset on the Big Island

Sunrise, HWY 79, southern California

Sunset, same trip, just outside of Julian, CA

South-east Ohio, near Athens, OH, HWY 50.

This is a cheat as it was taken just past sunrise... I just had to include one with the old Nighthawk!

This is a sunrise at the red center of Australia.  That's Oolaroo or Ayer's Rock just to the right.  No bike yet, I was on my way to pick up my rental.

And one more just cause I think it's kinda cool.  Taken from an airplane, this is a sunrise over the desert above the clouds.

Outstanding pics Dan.  Your old NH looked great in that pic.  Do you remember how far you were from Ayers Rock?

Another sunset and a bit closer.

Literally touching it here.  I spelled it phonetically the first time, not oolaroo, Uluru or like you said, Ayer's Rock.

Been awhile since anyone posted here.  Got up to about 70 here today so I took a late afternoon ride with my wife riding pillion.  She likes an under 50 mile ride in mild weather and today fit the bill.  I had her sit on the bike to add beauty to the pic and balance the NH as the ground was very soft.  Spring is just around the corner here.

Riding season is here.  How 'bout some scenery pics from your area NHF riders.  This one was close to home this evening.
