Like alot of my ride reports, this one takes me into Arkansas. Got off work early yesterday and left TX on a hot afternoon headed to Hot Springs. Stopped by Lake Greeson to cool off in the shade and drink some h2o. Took a crooked route to Hot Springs so I could hit some good twisties. Roads in this part of AR are good but not as thrilling as Ouachita Mts. near the OK border. A few shots along the way. The last pic was at the end of a 5 mile section of rollercoaster twists and elevation changes that NH ate up. Continued later.

Arrived in Hot Springs late afternoon. Lake Hamilton snakes through HS. Makes for some nice scenery in this tourist town. Got to watch out for clueless cagers looking at everything but the road. Got a good nights sleep after 200+ miles of fun. I came to HS to compete in Arkansas Senior Games. Yep, I'm an AARP Sr. Where did the time go? I have competed in sports all my life and fortunately found out about masters track(over 40) in my 20's and decided to keep running. Plan to do it the rest of my life. I get about as big a thrill running sprints as I do ripping through a curvy backroad. So I ran(and won) the 100,200, and 400m dashes. Here is a pic at the halfway point of the 400. I was about 5 yards behind the leader here and slowly reeled him in and won by about 3 yards. Just for kicks I did the football throw. When I was coaching I threw alot but have thrown very litle since shoulder surgery after my crash last year. Very surprised to win this with a throw of 52 yards. I don't always win like this, but it made for a great day. I was out in the hot sun for about 4 hours at the meet so after cooling off I slabbed it home on I-30. Did about 400 miles this weekend . I think I'll sleep well tonight .

Lindy, the ride pics remind me it's time for another Ar week. The running pics remind me of why I shouldn't have quit running 20 years ago! No wonder you recovered so quickly! 400+ miles....and you were ready to give it all up! mod

LL - 4 medals and 400 miles on the bike.... sounds like you had a great time.
I hear the Cowboys are looking for a QB.... I'm sure the job pays well.

Thanks for the comments guys. No doubt it's never too late. People in their 90's still do this. Mark-Glad I'm still able to ride & run. Life is good. Pants-I'll 'pass' on the 'boys, wouldn't want to put Romo out of work . I wonder if you get workmens' comp after getting broken in half by a 300 lb lineman? Gammer-I went to the "World Premiere" of that bad movie way back in the 70s. The town of Fouke, AR where the "monster" was is near my home. Skeptics say the beast was the invention of moonshiners trying to scare people away from their alcohol making location.

I'm sad to say that I remember that movie. To be honest, I only know of this because of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and their riffed version of: "Boggy Creek II: The Legend Continues"....which actually isn't the 2 of these movies, but the 3rd. They already made a 2nd, but no one new of if so they called the 3rd one #2. And if you thought the first one was bad, you should see the 2nd...or 3rd...whatever Sorry for the

Congrats Lindy! You're an inspiration.
I know I need to get out and exercise more, just can't seem to find the time.
Great pics. I've never made it to AR. I think a trip may be in order.

Thanks MJ. AR is very underrated. Beautiful scenery, most road surfaces are good and little traffic out in the twisties.
