I finally got around to checking out a new salvage yard/bike shop outside of town yesterday and what I do I find hiding in the back room but a sissybar/back rest for my CB650SC Nighthawk. banana  My son has been mad ever since I sold the one that came with the Nighthawk when I bought it since he wanted to ride on the back and thought the sissybar would make holding on much easier which is hard to argue with but I needed to sell it to pay for the parts I needed to get it back on the road. I'd since told him that I didn't think I'd ever be able to find a replacement one for a reasonable price so when I saw the price tag of $89 hanging off the sissybar I had to buy it. It's even in better shape than the one I sold. claps  Now I just need to figure out how to get my Nelson Riggs saddlebags mounted back on the bike around the sissybar and hang right. I'll try to get some pics tomorrow since I still have to get the tail section bolted back in place.

$89...you probably could have haggled them down to $50!  poke

J/K that's a great deal...I wish I had a salvage yard around here, I'd go every weekend and put together all kinds of projects.

This place was great. We spent probably 45 minutes wandering around the back bay full of parts bikes and then checking out the owners project bikes back in the work bay. He must have had 50 or so 70s & 80s Japanese parts bikes laying around. drooler  I know for a fact now that he has a 1984 CB650SC Nighthawk sitting back there in case I need more parts. naughty  I went in back with him to show him that the sissybar was indeed for my bike.  He'd gotten inventory confused and thought it was for a CB750. Good find! I wish I could find the luggage rack (no sissy bar) at that price!

Finally got the sissybar re-mounted. It was twice the bitch to put one back on as it was to take off. giggle  I didn't particularly like the one that was on it when I bought it with the stock seat but I think the new/old one looks really nice with the Corbin seat and my son is excited to have a back rest and hand holds for riding on the back to school. smiler

Looks good! You seem to be getting good parts at great deals really fast. First the Corbin seat, now this!

I seem to have inherited my mother's talent for finding deals.  I can't haggle like her by any stretch of the imagination but I do seem to have the sixth sense for deals.  naughty
