I'm interested in getting a shield for the winter too.

What is the Model number of that shield? does is have 2 or 4 mount points? Have you been able to compare it to the Sptifire as far as performance and air flow? What about buffetting control behind a big rig? How many mount points does the Spitfire have?

The Spitfire has two mounting points, and I'm not very impressed with the hardware. The steel bolts don't stay in the aluminum threads very well, so I find that I have to retighten often.

What kind of gloves are those?
In case anyone is interested, sportbiketrackgear.com has those cortech injector gloves for sale for only $39.95 right now.

Don't make me provide a link! poke

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.  I ended up getting the Spitfire windscreen because my local Honda dealer had one in stock.  What a difference it makes.  My neck used to get sore on the freeway from the wind pushing it back, but now I can ride with no fatigue.  I also removed the rear rack off of my bike because it was blocking the tail light.  Now I just need to order a Clymer service manual.

I had the same problem with mine.  Actually lost one of the wing nuts close to Ari's house last month.  Put locktight on the threads and so far, so good.

Still, the screen wiggles a little at highway speed.  The 4 mounting points on the National Streetfighter seem to make the screen more rigid.  Something to look at in the future.

The National Street Shield stays solid as well.  I've had it for two seasons now and I've only had to tighten the screen down twice that I recall and it wasn't all that loose.  Doesn't move at all on the go, at least not that I can tell.

I replaced the wingnuts with allen screws I got at the hardware store.  Much easier to tighten, but does require tools to remove.

Resurrecting an old thread, I know.

I'm curious if the mounting systems for these windshields would work on these bars that I know not to be stock.  I'm pretty sure they are 7/8" bars, that's not what I mean.  I mean how the bar is sloped in available mounting areas.

Here is the picture to reference:

Really like this screen and will likely purchase but need to make sure it will fit cleanly.

Thanks!

I have the stock bars on my bike and I can just get the spitfire to fit by mounting it like you see in the photo.  It looks like the bars you have are very similar.
