Took the armor out of my mesh jacket, and put the jacket, liner, and helmet liners in the wash. Used gentle cycle, added color-safe bleach.

Man, what a difference. Had to be done. Even my trunk was reeking of funk. Gonna have to use detergent to clean it out too.

Let everything dry in the sun.

Jacket now looks (and smells) like new.

Must have been really bad, as most of us don't know how much our clothes stink until someone tells us..... I think I had the jacket for 2 years..... shog

Just ride in a torrential downpour few times a year.

Failing that, soapy suds and garden hose will do.

My trunk had some junk in it that smelled of funk.

Seriously, I left my hat, a rag that I use to wipe the sweat off my head (puke), and jacket liner in there all summer long. I opened it up a few times and said "Whoa, that fookin' stinks!!", and kept forgetting to take it out over the weekends. Today I went in the garage to get something, and I remembered to take everything out and wash.

The jacket and liner is hanging in the garage now, and the whole garage now smells like lavender. naughty

Would love to ride in the rain as long as there is not another vehicle on the road. Dumb cagers get dumber as it rains...
