We only got about 80 miles out of Des Moines last night before the deer started showing up so we called it a night and got a room.
We did about 600 miles today and have a room just outside of Memphis, TN for the night. Got to do some sweepers today and boy does this thing like to go fast in the turns. I haven't even begun to realize its full potential too.
Tomorrow we ride with my Aunt and Uncle from Jackson, MS and I get my Givi luggage mounted.
Yeah that rear brake is much more effective than the Nighthawk's, lol. Lam and I punched through a yellow light and slow down quick on the other side. I hear someone's tires squealing from locking their brakes or peeling out...
Then I realize that was me.
Never fish tailed or felt like it lost traction though.

Fantastic! Started out with a little soreness but that is gone now. It's breaking in well. The windshield is much too small though and the wind is kicking my butt since we are mostly cruising at 75+.

I'm extremely impressed at how smooth everything is with this bike. Accelerating, cruising and braking are all perfect. The power is amazing. I was quickly passing cars today on a 2 lane road in 6th gear, no need to even down shift.

I wonder if that is the torque of the bigger motor or the fuel injectors constantly re-mapping the air/fuel mixture, or both?
Ride safe and enjoy my friend.

AWB is jealous of this mythical "6th Gear" you speak of. BTW: Don't fret about the corbin...it will be insanely uncomfy for about the next month while it forms to you. Mine fits me "like a glove" now and I wouldn't have anything else. I think that's what scares people away from the corbins though, you gotta tough it out!

Thanks! I had a fantastic time. My parents rode with me, the bike ran perfectly, we visited family and the weather could not have been better.

I offered Soup an old Iowa license plate but for some reason he declined. If I had been pulled over for speeding, that would have just added to my troubles. Time to find some oil and cleaning supplies and wash off 1300 miles of bugs. Not to mention the road salt from your neck of the woods.

Typically no road salt up here quite yet. That doesn't show up until the first time it snows. Otherwise it washes off after a couple of rains in the spring. I offered Soup an old Iowa license plate but for some reason he declined. If I had been pulled over for speeding, that would have just added to my troubles. Time to find some oil and cleaning supplies and wash off 1300 miles of bugs. Not to mention the road salt from your neck of the woods.

Changed the oil and filter, cleaned and polished top to bottom with Biker Spirits, waxed with Meguiar's Tech Wax 2 and tightened the steering stem (a common factory oversight on these).
Glamor shots coming shortly!
