Hey Nate, I ride wearing a HJC FS-10 and I like everything about it, except the noise level.  The interior decibel level is to high, especially on long rides..  I'll be interested to see what you have to say about the scorpion.

CraigF!!!
Where have you been?
How is the bike running?

Gammer, my Canadian buddy!

Bike is running great.  It hit 10,000 miles a couple weeks ago (I bought it last Aug with 8300).

I've been busy--promotion at work 2 months ago which keeps me very busy.  I'll try to check things out here more often.   The bike still needs new paint on the tank and side panels, I think I'll make some progress on that very soon.

I don't mind the wind myself until about 75 to 80mph, above that I bend my arms a little more and get a little closer to the tank. I'm just a shorty though, 5'7" ish (cm), and I've always preferred naked bikes for some reason. I don't really like being stuck behind fairings, especially when they have fixed mirrors and dials that don't move 'with me' when I'm turning the handle bars.

I do get a nasty whistle in my HJC IS-16 at those speeds though. After highway trips over 2 hours I still got a buzz in my ears when I go to bed at night. Still looking for better earplugs for longer trips, I still use the rubber ones I got for the firing range back when I was in the army but they're starting to deteriorate after 16 years.

I purchased some of those foam ear plugs at a hardware store. They work fine. I keep a set in my pocket, just in case.
My general rule of thunb is that I don't wear them for short jaunts around the city, or when commuting to work. But anything longer, I wear them.

I still got half a box of those, got 'm for my Honda Civic. Had to wear them with the open exhaust system on highway trips, that thing was way louder than my bike, lol

But I'd like to get something re-usable that dampens a little more. They sell these for 25 euro's at the local bike shop, might try them out as soon as I get over the price.

When I was running 10 discs on my supertrapp muffler, it was unbearable without ear plugs...any time. Now that I've backed it down to 6 discs, its tolerable.

Hey, my thread got bumped.   :)

I solved my issue by wearing earplugs (or Etymotic ER6i earphones) while riding.

Hey!

Still running great, except I've blown a fork seal.   My brother's going to help me fix it, but in the mean time I'm still riding, as the suspension seems to be working just fine.

I'm generally good up to about 80-85, if winds are minimal.
