I have wanted to get a new one piece suit for the track for quite a while... i found this place through the WERA board... http://www.velocitysportsgear.com/motorcycle/motorocycle-race-suits/one-piece-suits/custom-suit-designs.htmlThey are going to cut me a great deal on my custom leathers... so i am going to get them for christmas and colored to match my project ... I am going for a gulf racing color scheme... what do you think

after my crash at the track last june, my SOQS agrees that i need a good suit that fits correctly...
my Teknic Chicane held up pretty good... but since the pants don't fit right, the armor moved and caused some skin burns...

I just have a hard time justifying it since I don't go to track days...I'm too afraid to mess up the CB...

I don't have the 1 piece leather suit but I do have a very nice matching leather jacket and pants that zip together at the back of the jacket. I usually wear a pair of Carhardt pants over the leather pants since they're pretty snug which I'm sure is a safety thing but not exactly the fashion statement I'm trying to make.

i had to postpone my measurements till next week...
i got them to throw in a set of gloves too :D
the leathers have Knox Armor instead of CE... and use double and triple stitching (Kevlar stitching) ...
I am really excited... I have read lots of good things about these leathers from the Canadians...
I may get another set once I get my Highland 450 SuperMoto... :)

the leathers have Knox Armor instead of CE Can you share a little more about this? Is K/A subjected to a higher standard?

CE is just the minimum... the knox armor is 30-40% better... http://www.velocitysportsgear.com/knox-armor/knox-replacement-armor.htmlborrowed from advrider.com I believe the TF2 pads were not subjected to CE certification as they were developed before the European standard was defined. However, they have been tested (see this PDF of Goldfine's statement to the NTSB in 2006). Here's the interesting bit from their 2001 test of the amount of force transferred by the testing apparatus: Hiprotec about 15 kN Astrosorb 18 about 19 kN Aerostich (hard shell areas) about 20 kN Memory V9 about 21 kN Astrene 8mm about 22 kN Knox about 26 kN T Pro about 27 kN Aerostich (mean of all areas) about 29 kN Aerostich (soft areas) about 43 kN Rukka - air about 45 kN Lower is better and anything under 50kN is said to pass. So presuming the test hasn't changed (fair assumption) and the materials haven't (not a good assumption, well except maybe for Aerostich) all of these are good and the Aerostich pads are right in the middle. What I read in this is that my personal visual comparison of the thin, soft Hein Gericke Hiprotec pads and the thick, dual-layer Aerostich TF2 pads tells me absolutely nothing in terms of how well they actually work Just found another source that claims it is 35kN. Whatever, lower is better.

How long does it usually take to receive your suit once you place the order? I assume that the suit isn't made until the order is placed, right? Just having to wait to place your order must be killing you.

You talk of measurement - so you are deviating from the standard rack sizes? Are you absolutely sure they will take returns if there is a fit issue? I ordered custom boots from an American company where one of the (apparently three) employees, measured me. And they were atrociously wrongly sized, and they wouldn't take them back. I'd expect even worse if dealing with sales and manufacturing in two different foreign countries.
Needless to say, I'm very leery of Chinese goods. They have a knack for cutting corners where it doesn't show. Looks great, falls apart way too early. Sadly good American companies are coy about pricing on the web, so I can't really compare MSRP.

well they have a very thorough measurement sheet about 20 different measurements...
from the reviews i have read they are good... i have yet to see a review of a crash tested suit...
my problem is that an off the rack suit still needs about $300 worth of leather work to fit me correctly...
i have a teknik suit that is as good a fit as i can get off the rack... if the jacket fits the pants are too big...
this will get me a suit taylored to me...
it is a fairly new company so we will see how they last...
