The old Shadow 750 had a great reputation.  I think it had a driveshaft too.

Good looking bike, definitely a step in the right direction.  Still a bit too 'American' for me.  Also, I want electric.

Looks too much like the HD 883L Sportster.

Doesn't look bad...Just too similar.

That bike is sweet. And I agree is does look like a sportster except it wont rattle, vibrate, smoke and leak. The sportster is a good looking bike but I would not want one, this I would consider.

The older Shadow Spirit 750 had chain drive.  The newer ones have shaft.  Nice enough bikes, but overpriced.

checked one  of these out at the bike show here, wasn't as big as I thought it was going to be, probably about the size of 750 nh if not a tad smaller, with less reach to the bars. Has a 2.8 gal tank though, even with good mileage thats a little less than i would like to see in the tank, ah well such is form over function

A Sportster without all the bad stuff that goes along with a Sportster.

Not my cup of tea designwise, but not a bad idea from a marketing point of view since Harley sells a bunch of Sportsters.

Now all they need to do to set it off is to add a rwb wing sticker from a mid-eighties Honda.

the reason they look like a sportster is because that's who they are in competition with and as far as Harley's leaking and smoking my dad has a 2001 Electra glide with over 50k and it doesn't leak or smoke and lets be honest the HD nightster looks sick if i wasn't 6'4 and 350ish i'd ride this.....http://www.automotoportal.com/media/images/vijesti/070129010.jpg.

And then it turns out someone had to dig up a 7 month old thread to defend HD on a Nighthawk forum.  umph

OK so now we're gonna hate on Harley......really? how old are we? are we really gonna start a pi$$ing contest between Honda and Harley, that's ridiculous yes i appreciate old Honda's such as my 82 750 SC and old Cb's and kz's but when i see Honda come out with their goldwing with reverse and heat, really just buy a miata, will i own a Harley Davidson in my life you can bet all the money you have i will, and will my nighthawk still be sittin right next to it probably, but when i come to a forum as a motorcycle enthusiast and see brand bashing going on it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, because at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you rode as long as you rode it and enjoyed yourself. and it must a complete coincidence that Honda came out with shadow that looks damn close to sportster and if you don't think that Honda purposely did that you are as you say  wacko my friend

How about some anecdotal evidence.

I was on a bike trip with some of my dad's friends, most of whom ride Harleys. There were 4 in total. The V-Rod's footpeg broke, one electrasuperlowhardsoftail of recent manufacture started leaking brake fluid, and the other had electrical problems. The '83 GLH had zero problems, besides being barely faster than a Vespa, despite some Screaming Eagle parts. I blame the mysterious lack of problems on the fact that it's been rebuilt around 3 times. One of these Harley guys used to have a Triumph Rocket III, but he sold it for something more touring oriented so his wife might ride with him. He now hates his own motorcycle.

The Kawasaki Vulcan, Suzuki SV650, and my Nighthawk had not one hiccup for the whole trip. I can't understand why anyone would ride a Harley.

stop making dumda$$ coments...

Actually, if you knew him, you'd understand he's more of a smartass and referencing a former member that left some time ago and still causes debates today. You're jumping in here as a noob crusader fighting one of the top posters (Laminar) on this website where we've had this whole Harley discussion countless times. Take it easy and chill out a bit, you'll have more fun.  thumb

I'd like turn signals like that on my '03 NH 750.

Couldn't they afford to put a tach on it?

Start, I thought it was ongoing. We all have opinions or at least welcome to have them.

FWIW 82, you do sound like you have some Harley in ya, brother.
