Met up with a bunch of guys from our local motorcycle forum for a nice ride over to Southern IL to Garden of the Gods on Saturday. Had 19 bikes at the start but only 16 ended up making the full run to GOTG. Mostly Harleys and other assorted cruisers with a handful of sportbikes and me being the only one with any real taste on my Nighthawk.

We all met up 10:00 in the morning at Godfather's pizza in Ledbetter then made a short run to Smithland to pick up some more riders. Here's the group at the Smithland stop

Then we had a nice run down the river road through Birdsville and made a stop at Joy Falls. Thanks to the drought conditions, there's not much falls happening right now. There normally would be water running where we are all standing.

Then we mounted up and ran on over to the Cave In Rock Ferry. Here we are waiting for our ride to show up.

Here it comes now.

All loaded up, and we're off.

Nice view down the Ohio river as we are halfway across.

Once we got off the ferry In Cave In Rock, stopped for lunch at this little diner.

After lunch we mounted up again and headed to Garden of the Gods.

Then we all loaded up and headed for home. Got back home just after dusk but before it started to get too cold.

Very nice Mr. Munkey!

Certainly some good memories for our up and coming winter. The MunkeyHawk looks the best!

I just noticed in the fifth picture down, while we are waiting for the ferry, there's a guy on his knees working on his Harley.  ricky
